The world's largest streaming music service is preparing to dig deeper into customers' wallets. Spotify, according to FinancThe Times plans to raise its subscription prices in dozens of countries, primarily in Europe and Latin America, with the changes expected to take effect in May or June.
The price increase is expected to apply to the basic Premium tariff, which should increase in price by an average of one euro per month (approx. 25 CZK). However, in some countries, prices will increase even more significantly - for example, in the Netherlands, the basic Premium will increase in price by two euros to 12,99 euros per month, Duo for two users by three euros, and Family by up to four euros to 21,99 euros, or roughly 550 CZK.

It is not yet certain what the situation will be in the Czech Republic. Spotify last increased its price in the Czech Republic in 2023, when the basic subscription increased to the current 169 CZK per month. The Duo tariff currently costs 229 CZK and the Family plan for up to six accounts will cost 269 CZK per month. The company also offers a student tariff for 89 CZK.
In addition to the price increase, Spotify plans to introduce a cheaper Basic version that will not include audiobooks. In the UK it will cost 10,99 pounds, or about 320 CZK. On the other hand, Spotify is also preparing a super premium plan for 17 dollars per month, which will offer higher sound quality, priority ticket purchase and exclusive access to new content.
The Basic version in the UK for 320,- won't be anything special in terms of "cheaper" varianty, if the premium there now costs 350,-
