When I got my hands on the Genesis Thor 660 G2 RGB mechanical keyboard, I admit that I didn't expect any miracles from it. In this price category, there are usually models that look good at first glance, but after a few days of use, they reveal compromises - whether in the quality of workmanship or in comfort during prolonged work. But as it turned out, this piece from Genesis can surprise. And really.

Technical specifications, processing and design

At first glance, you will be impressed by the compact 60% design, which is not only stylish but above all practical. Thor 660 G2 takes up miniIt saves a lot of desk space, which will be appreciated by those who work in a smaller space or prefer a clean setup without unnecessary things. Despite its smaller dimensions, the keyboard maintains great ergonomics - without the need to attach a palm rest.

The workmanship is honest. The chassis is solid, nothing creaks anywhere, and the plastic feels matte and durable. The keys made of PBT plastic with a pudding effect are not only pleasant to the touch, but also perfectly transmit the RGB backlight, which, by the way, you can adjust down to the last detail. There are 26 different effects on offer and switching between them is a matter of one press. And speaking of the backlight - the effects look great even in daylight. In the evening, they create an atmosphere that cannot be replaced by anything.

Testing

I used the Genesis Thor 660 G2 as my primary keyboard for two weeks – both for writing articles and playing games. During that time, I connected it to MacBookum iPhoneI even had an iPad. Thanks to Bluetooth 5.0 and the ability to connect up to 4 devices at once, I could switch between devices literally in a second. The keyboard shortcuts for switching are intuitive and work absolutely reliably.

But what caught my eye the most are the Gateron Brown mechanical switches. Unlike the “clickier” Blue versions, they are quiet, but still retain tactile feedback. They are great for typing – the response is immediate and flawless, I never felt like I had to repeat a keystroke. The gaming experience is similarly precise. Accuracy, certainty, but also comfort – these are words that describe the feeling of use. When I tested the battery life, I achieved over 70 hours of operation on a single charge without any problems. The manufacturer promises up to 80, which seems very realistic to me. Charging is via USB-C and the keyboard can be used during it – so no interruptions in work.

One of the biggest benefits is its complete versatility. It worked without any problems on both macOS and iOS or WindowsSo wherever you plan to use it, you shouldn't encounter any restrictions.
