Podcasts are a great source of information and entertainment, but sometimes it can be difficult to navigate through long episodes. Luckily, there's an easy way to get a better overview and easily skip between parts of a podcast. This feature is called "chapters," and it lets you navigate through an episode like you would a book. This article will show you how to use this feature in the Podcasts app on your iPhone.

Time is precious these days. That’s why it’s important to make the most of every minute. Podcasts have become a popular way to stay informed and entertained while traveling, exercising, or relaxing. But what if you’re listening to a long episode and want to go back to a specific section or skip to a topic that interests you? That’s where chapters come in.

How to divide a podcast into chapters on your iPhone

Podcast chapters work much like chapters in books. They divide an episode into smaller sections, each with a title and timestamp. This makes it easy to jump between topics, return to interesting parts, or just get a quick overview of what the episode is about. Using chapters will save you time and improve your listening experience.

  • Open the Podcasts app.
  • Start any episode that contains chapters. Not all podcasts support this feature, it depends on whether the podcast creator has manually set up the chapters.
  • While playing, swipe up on the episode playing bar at the bottom of your iPhone screen.

This will expand the bottom of the control panel, where the playback indicator should now appear. Swipe right or left briefly over the indicator to reveal the current chapter name, and you can quickly skip between chapters by moving the indicator forward or backward, or by tapping the chapter name.

Podcast chapters are a great tool to help you navigate long episodes and save time. Try this simple process and see how your listening experience improves.
