While the recommended retail price of the PS5 Slim in Europe has so far been set at €449,99, after the price increase, the price of the digital version has jumped to €499,99. According to Sony, the version with the mechanical drive will not increase in price, just as there are no plans to increase the price of the PS5 Slim. We can only guess how the price increase will affect the Czech Republic, because retailers are not yet repricing. For example, on Alza, the console still costs CZK 11, which is what it has been selling for since the beginning. However, if we stick to the € to CZK conversion, it is likely that the Slim version without the mechanical drive will cost around CZK 490 in the Czech Republic. So it is not such a significant price jump, but it will certainly not please.
In a way, it is good news that in addition to increasing the price of the digital version of the PS5 Slim, Sony has decided to reduce the price of the separately sold physical drive, through which the digital version can be upgraded. It normally costs €119,99, but after the current reduction, it should cost a more pleasant €79.99. However, it is important to add that the stock of drives is incredibly limited, and it is therefore a big question to what extent this reduction will actually be reflected. Currently, the price of the drive is mainly affected by its unavailability, which is why it is sold expensively.
