In today's review, we will look at a pair of very nice and, above all, technologically interesting power banks from the workshop of the popular Czech accessory retailer Cube.nest. He recently launched two brand new power banks SlimDual and Slim, and since both deserve attention and recently arrived at our editorial office for testing, it's high time to introduce them to you. The nice weather is approaching, and these pieces are perfect for your outdoor adventures.
Cubenest SlimDual 5000 mAh
Technical specifications, processing and design
Cubenest SlimDual is betting on miniminimalist design, top-quality materials and thoughtful functionality. Its aluminum body with a brushed surface not only looks great, but also increases resistance to everyday wear and tear. The power bank is only 9 mm thin and, weighing 120 grams and measuring 9 x 70 x 101 mm, fits perfectly on the back of the iPhone. The dual magnetic system is exceptional - thanks to magnets on both sides, it holds firmly on the phone and at the same time allows you to use other MagSafe accessories, which is an invaluable advantage when traveling or working.
In terms of performance, SlimDual offers wireless charging with a power of up to 15 W, while using a USB-C cable (which, incidentally, is included in the package) it can handle a power of up to 20 W. Thanks to this, it can charge two devices at the same time - one wirelessly, the other with a cable. The 5 mAh capacity is enough to fully charge most iPhones, or for several smaller charges during the day. In addition, the manufacturer has not forgotten about safety - the power bank is equipped with protection against overheating, overvoltage, overload and short circuit, so you can rely on it even during intensive use.
Testing
As you probably already know, the main weapon of this power bank, in addition to its beautiful design and metal jacket, is its uniqueness in the form of a double magnetic system, where one magnet is used to attach to the back of the iPhone, while the other - the external one - is used to attach any magnetic accessory to the power bank.ancand therefore de facto also to the phone itself. And I must say that this is a truly brilliant solution. In the past, as a fan of MagSafe accessories, I myself have encountered countless times that I had to choose between having a MagSafe wallet with documents attached to the back of my phone, thanks to which I was not so worried about losing them or not being able to find them quickly if necessary, or a power bank that charged my phone, but forced me to unfasten my wallet and notchat It can roam freely in your backpack. But thanks to this innovative solution, similar fears are gone.
Thanks to the fact that the SlimDual power bank is really thin, it blends in very well with the back of your phone, and it stays on without any problems even after you clip it on. So there's no need to worry that once you clip another accessory to the power bank, the back of your phone will become so big that you won't be able to hold it in your hand - fortunately, that doesn't happen. No, miniMaterial thickness plays a key role here.
As for charging itself, thanks to the Compatible with MagSafe certification, you are guaranteed up to 15W of wireless charging for compatible iPhones, which is definitely great. In the case of wired charging, up to 20W is even available, but I think that you really won't want to limit yourself to a cable in this case, because we are talking about a truly interesting, innovative piece. However, if you need to use a cable in addition to wireless, know that you won't complain about its speed.
When testing the Cube power banknest I used SlimDual iPhone 16 Pro. This model features MagSafe toonektor, so I could take full advantage of wireless charging. I started with 20% battery and within the first half hour of charging via MagSafe, the phone was up to 50%. That's a pretty decent performance, especially when I was using the phone at the same time. After 60 minutes of charging, it was iPhone to 85%, which is a great result for a charger with such a high performance.onem 15 W. When charging a completely discharged phone to 100%, the charging time is approximately 2 hours and 40 minutes, because the last percent always charges more slowly. The only thing to keep in mind is that there are significant losses during wireless charging and therefore iPhone You can fully charge the 16 Pro with a capacity of 3582 mAh with this power bank once, and then you will only get about 10-15% out of it. However, I think that the convenience that the dual magnetic system offers makes choosing "only" a 5000 mAh power bank definitely worth it.
Cubenest Slim 10 mAh
Technical specifications, processing and design
Cube Power Banknest Slim builds on the successful design of its smaller sibling from the previous lines, but adds double the power and greater versatility. The brushed aluminum body looks premium at first glance and feels just as premium in use. With dimensions of 15 x 70 x 101 mm and a weight of 190 grams, the power bank remains compact enough not to get in the way when carrying it around – whether in a pocket, backpack or directly attached to the back of the iPhone using the strong MagSafe magnet. This ensures a firm and precise hold, while the soft surface prevents unwanted scratches on the phone. However, this model lacks double magnets, so it can no longer be used with other MagSafe accessories.
In terms of parameters, the Slim version will offer wireless charging up to 15 W via MagSafe and classic wired charging up to 20 W via USB-C port. Thanks to this, it can conveniently power two devices simultaneously – one wirelessly and the other using the included USB-C to USB-C cable with 60W support. The internal battery with a capacity of 10 mAh will provide enough energy not only for iPhone, but perhaps also for iPad mini or a pair of accessories of the type AirPods and Apple Watch within a day. Safety is ensured by a set of advanced protection features including thermal, overvoltage, current and short circuit protection, so you can rely on the power bank even in more demanding conditions.
Testing
For testing the Cube power banknest I used two iPhone models – iPhone 16 For a iPhone 16e. Of course, with the iPhone 16 Pro with MagSafe, I was able to take full advantage of wireless charging. I started with 20% battery and within the first 30 minutes of charging wirelessly via MagSafe, the phone got to 50%, which is great considering the performance was stable even when using the phone while charging. After an hour, it was iPhone to 85%, which is a solid result for a charger that offers 15W of power. When charging from 0 to 100%, you need about 2 hours and 40 minutes, as the last percentages are logically charged more slowly.
For the iPhone 16e, which does not support MagSafe, I used wired charging via USB-C. I started with 30% battery and after 45 minutes of charging it was at 80%. Thanks to the power of up to 20W, charging was done quickly and efficiently, which I was really pleased with, because I expected a slightly slower pace. In addition, the power bank managed to charge both devices simultaneously without a significant drop in performance, which is ideal for situations when you need to charge both the phone and, perhaps, headphones. I did not encounter any significant heating with it, even when both devices were charging.
However, it is important to take into account the fact that the capacity of 10 mAh does not equal how many mAh you actually "stuff" into your electronics. When charging, especially wireless charging, there are significant losses, which is why you can get less energy from the power bank than it can hold. But I dare say that the losses do not have to bother you at all. After all iPhone The 16 Pro has a battery capacity of 3582 mAh, iPhone The 16e even has 4005 mAh and when I tested their charging simultaneously from 0 to 100% in both cases, the power bank was able to charge both of them, even though the last diode on it was already lit, indicating a charge level of 25% or less. So if you use the power bank to charge an iPhone 16 Pro, for example, I think you can easily get 2 full and one partial charge, which is not bad at all.
Summary
What to say about the new products from Cubenest Conclusion? Nothing negative at all. Both the SlimDual and the Slim model score points with their technical specifications, which makes them quite possibly one of the most attractive power banks on the market - even considering their prices. If you are looking for an innovative piece and are a fan of MagSafe accessories like me, the SlimDual is made just for you. If you are looking for maxFor the ultimate amount of "energy packed for the road", pack a Slim power bank with a generous 10 mAh alongside the Tatraneks. You won't be disappointed with either of these models.
