Meta according to agency information Bloomberg is preparing a premium version of its Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses, which could hit the market by the end of this year. The new model, internally codenamed “Hypernova”, will bring a small built-in display, gesture control and capacitive touch surfaces on the temples of the glasses to the line for the first time.

The display is intended to be displayed only on the right glass in the lower right corner and will be best seen when looking down. After turning on the device, a home screen appears with icons arranged horizontally, similar to the Meta Quest headsets. The Hypernova glasses will allow you to launch apps, view photos, or interact with the AI assistant without having to use your phone.
The equipment should also include an improved camera and support for an artificial intelligence voice assistant. The device is aimed at the middle class of smart glasses, but will be priced significantly higher, according to BloombergThe price tag is expected to be between $1 and $300. That's more than four times the price of the base Ray-Ban Meta model, which starts at $1. The price is partly justified by the presence of a special bracelet, codenamed Ceres, which serves as a "neuro"nal" controller. This allows for more precise control using hand movements and gestures, without the need to touch the glasses themselves. Meta is also already working on the next generation of these glasses, labeled Hypernova 2, which should offer two displays. Its launch is expected in 2027. On the other hand, Meta is saving full augmented reality with advanced features for its independently developed model of glasses called Orion.
