The company, which began as a small software startup in Albuquerque in 1975, is now one of the most influential technology companies in the world. The wallpapers were created by a trio of designers directly in Microsoftua each of them represents a certain milestone or visual memory from the company's history. The package is freely downloadable in ZIP format on the official blog Microsoftua contains both light and dark varianty for each wallpaper.
One of the most striking wallpapers is inspired by a classic logo Windows, specifically the period Windows 95. The author is creative director Chris Palazzo, who says he wanted to capture that sense of wonder he always had when new releases launched Windows: "I started with DOS.
