Apple has been granted a new patent that could herald a major shift in the design of future products. The document filed with the U.S. Patent Office describes devices with all-glass covers, i.e. products whose entire exterior surfaces (front, back, and sides) would be made of glass. The result should be a smooth, transparent look with expanded interaction options.

The patent is not just about aesthetics. Apple In it, he describes an innovative interface that would respond to touch and pressure on different sides of the device. iPhone could have responsive sides and a back that adapt to how you hold it. The interface would dynamically change based on the device's orientation, allowing for intuitive operation from any angle.

The patent documentation also mentions other products. For example, a glass Mac Pro in the shape of an octagonal prism or Apple Watch made almost entirely of glass. Some designs even include deformation elements (the ability to control the device by squeezing), which may remind some of 3D Touch. Apple has been exploring the possibilities of all-glass design for more than a decade. Former design chief Jony Ive dreamed of an iPhone made from a single piece of glass. In any case, it is worth remembering, as usual, that this is only a patent and an all-glass iPhone It may never arrive. But how would you like such a product?
