The wait is over. Apple through its subsidiary Beats, a few minutes ago officially revealed the new Powerbeats Pro 2 headphones to the world, with which it will try to attract attention especially among athletes. That's because the Californian giant has packed the best of AirPods Pro 2 and at the same time equipped them with something we haven't seen in his headphones before.
It would be an exaggeration to say that the Powerbeats Pro 2 are "just" AirPods Pro 2 in a different body. That's because it's just like the flagship headphones Applu is powered by the H2 chip offering excellent energy efficiency or integration into Apple ecosystem, or that it offers ANC with a permeability mode or personalized surround sound. The new product is based on its previous generation in terms of design, although according to the manufacturer it has a 50% smaller ear hook, which should still ensure a first-class fit behind the user's ear. What's great is that the headphones can withstand sweat or light rain thanks to the IPX4 certification, and that they are now available with five sizes of earplugs, thanks to which they will fit absolutely everyone's ear.
Better durability and sound
The headphone body is now 20% lighter, but still Applu managed a small miracle and, thanks to the H2 chip, was able to extend the battery life of the headphones to 10 hours of playback with the power off ANC, which is a pleasant hour more than the previous generation. Charging is then, as usual, provided via the charging case, which increases the total battery life of the headphones (with a combination of charged headphones + charged case) to a beautiful 45 hours. Just for fun, the original version offered "only" 24 hours, so the headphones have improved significantly here. The same can be said in pale blue about the charging case itself, where in addition to USB-C portFor the first time, support for Qi wireless charging is also available.
As for sound, the Powerbeats Pro 2 have received a redesigned acoustic architecture, thanks to which the headphones should offer significantly better sound quality, but mainly the aforementioned ANC with a bandwidth mode, adaptive equalizer and other software features that the previous generation Powerbeats Pro could only dream of. At the same time, this model is the first product from the Beats workshop with support Lossless Audio s ultralow latency, which is optimized for Vision ProIn other words, the Powerbeats Pro 2 will give you the same audio experience when paired with a headset. Applu, as is now the case with AirUnder Pro 2, which is definitely great.
Heart rate monitoring
The most interesting new feature of the headphones is the support for heart rate monitoring, which has been heavily speculated about in recent months. The detection works when both headphones are in the ears, and when the user does this, the optical LED sensors pulse more than 100 times per second to obtain the most accurate data on heart rate based on the blood flow in your ears. The measured data is then of course synchronized with fitness applications, but also with the Health application, thanks to which the user should have excellent awareness of their heart rate, especially during training. Support for heart rate detection via headphones will be offered from the start of sales, for example, by Peloton, Ladder, Nike RUn Club or YaoYao.
Jablíčká fans will be pleased to know that iPhonech, the heart rate monitoring via the headphones starts automatically when the exercise is started, and it is also automatically turned off when the user ends the exercise monitored via the application. In the case of Android, such comfort is not available - heart rate monitoring will have to be turned on manually via the application. If you are then interested in whether the measurement from the headphones will not clash with the measurement from Apple Watch, there is no need to worry. According to the words AppIn this case, they will use the data measured from Apple Watch, but in the end it shouldn't matter, as both methods should measure your heart rate roughly the same.
H2 as the brain of everything
But let's go back to the H2 chip for a moment, which is absolutely essential for the functionality of the headphones. Thanks to it, the Powerbeats Pro 2 offers, for example, quick pairing, which we know from, for example, AirPods, automatic switching between devices via iCloud, support for audio sharing and of course integration into Apple Find. Many of the same features are available on Android, with the exception of maxFor optimal use of the headphones, you need the accompanying Beats app, which can be downloaded for free from Google Play.
If you are interested in control, apart from voice control, it is via Siri partially possible via buttons "b" on the sides of the headphones. They support the press and hold gesture, which can be used to activate Siri, pause songs, skip them and so on. There is also a touch rocker on each of the headphones, which is used to adjust the volume with a simple swipe of your fingers. But the Powerbeats Pro 2 also offers a great microphone system on paper consisting of three microphones and a voice accelerometer. Thanks to this, the user's voice should be captured very faithfully and, more importantly, automatic voice isolation will also be available to reduce background noise.
Powerbeats Pro 2 price
The Powerbeats Pro 2 headphones will arrive in four colors – namely, bright orange, intense purple, flowing sand and classic charcoal black. They will go on sale on Thursday, February 13th for a price of CZK 7990. This makes them the most expensive True Wireless headphones that Apple currently offers.
Purely Theoretically, the Heart Rate Measurement of the Headphones should be More Accurate + More Stable than in the case of AW.
..for darker skin even more so.
The big question is whether 8k (not just vs 6,8k AirPods Pro 2) is not REALLY powerful anymore :/
It will still measure your heart rate only when you use it. And then the combination with AW? I'll go to exercise, put on my headphones. I'll turn on the exercise on AW. And then both will be connected to each other in app health?
