Splinter Cell movie canceled, Ubisoft bets on series

After more than a decade, Ubisoft has canceled the planned Splinter Cell film starring Tom Hardy. ProDucent Basil Iwanyk admitted that the project fell through due to script and budget issues. However, Ubisoft is moving forward – an animated series Splinter Cell: Deathwatch is headed to Netflix. Meanwhile, a film adaptation of Watch Dogs is in the works.
