YouTube channel Apple Demo shared a video in which he presents a unique iPhone prototype. The phone came to them from an electronics recycling facility, where someone noticed that it might be something interesting and sent it to this YouTuber. The Vesica Piscis iPhone is a prototype of the iPhone 14 Pro and features a rare haptic button. The phone does not have the traditional Apple logo, but instead has a symbol resembling two crescent moons in the same place. It is a symbol that Apple he had previously used, for example, AirTag prototypes. That "logo" that Apple on the prototypes, it uses a mathematically created shape, which is created when two disks with the same radius intersect, and in Latin it is called the Vesica Piscis. It is a symbol that influences everything from architecture to art.
The prototype uses components from the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro, but also has some that don't belong to either device. Particularly unique are the volume buttons and the Power button, which do not click when pressed, but offer a haptic response. Apple has been flirting with haptic feedback for a long time, but it never made it to the final device for these buttons.
Based on the serial number, it appears that the device was manufactured in May 2021, which is before Apple introduced the iPhone 14 Pro. A number of components in the device, including the camera, are not real components at all, but only parts that Apple used to layout the elements on the motherboard. The device can be turned on, but a message appears about the need to complete the initialization of the microcontrollers, and when connected to the Mac, the device reports as a device called Bender, but does not respond to any commands. The YouTuber who obtained the device speculates that it is a device for experimental features, rather than a prototype of a specific iPhone model, and was apparently designed to test haptic buttons.
