Tesla is working on its first app for Apple Watch. According to the leaked code, it should be used Apple Watch like a car key, just like the app for iPhone. Tesla, for all its progressiveness, does not yet offer any app for Apple Watch nor for other smart watches. It would be the first time that Tesla owners will have the opportunity to officially control their car or its selected functions Apple Watch and especially unlock the car using the watch. The same function has been available for years, for example, to BMW owners who have the car key directly in the app Wallet and they can share it with others, among other things.

Tesla currently offers an app for iPhone and also supports Apple PodcastSat Apple Music within your infotainment, where you don't even have to own iPhoneto make these features work for you. Tesla officially stated earlier this year that it would “look into” an app for Apple Watch. However, users have been able to use third-party applications for a long time, which enable some of the car's functions Apple Watch control, but for example unlocking via Wallet of course, it is not among them.
