While Apple took a small evolutionary step forward with its new iPhones 16 (Pro) on Monday, while the Chinese company Huawei tried to make a real leap into the future a day later, and to be honest, with what it showed at its press conference, it may have succeeded. It revealed to the world a truly magnificent Mate XT foldable, which becomes the first ever foldable smartphone.onem.

As you might have guessed, the phone uses two hinges to fold in half, dividing the total display area into equal thirds. One hinge bends inwards, while the other bends outwards, which means you can have three phone configurations – a classic rectangular one using one third of the display, and a partially unfolded one with an inner display that takes up two thirds of the screen and an outer one that takes up two thirds of the screen.onec plně rozložený, kdy se tři třetiny spojí v jednu zobrazovací plochu s úhlopříčkou neuvěřitelných 10,2“. Bavíme se tedy skoro o rozměrech menších iPadů. Při částečném rozložení dostanete neméně zajímavou úhlopříčku 7,9“.

At full resolution, the LTPO OLED display offers a resolution of 2232 x 3184 pixels with an aspect ratio of 16:11, which are really impressive parameters. Perhaps even more impressive, however, is the thickness of the device, which is 12,8mm when folded. And just to give an idea, the thickness of the iPhone 16 Pro is 8,25 mm, so there is not that much difference in this direction. However, the Huawei Mate XT definitely has something to offer elsewhere. Its heart is apparently a very decently powerful Kirin 9010 5G, which complements 16GB of RAM memory and 256, 512 or 1TB of storage. It goes without saying that standards such as Bluetooth 5.2, a fingerprint reader in the power button or fast charging are included. It can be charged up to 66W with a cable, and wirelessly with an equally impressive 50W. However, it is a question of  how long will the 5600mAh battery keep such a giant screen alive.

The phone's camera system also looks really nice on paper. There is a main triple camera module equipped with a 50MPx wide-angle lens and variaaperture f/1,4 to f/4,0, then ultraa wide-angle lens with an aperture of f/2,2 and a 12MPx telephoto lens with 5,5x optical zoom. The selfie camera built into the hole in the display only has an 8MPx resolution, but even that is not completely bad.

Perhaps the biggest drawback of the phone is its price, which should be between 77 and 93 thousand crowns. So it wants to be a unique solutionchat Huawei will obviously pay a royal price. Unfortunately, as is customary with this manufacturer, sales are announced only for China, at least for now, with expansion to other markets more or less ruled out given how Huawei has been sanctioned in Western markets and how it is generally viewed.
