In today's review, we will look at the very interesting FIXED Zen 20 power bank. Pro from the workshop of the Czech accessory manufacturer FIXED. It recently arrived at our editorial office for testing, and since I was really interested in its capabilities, it has been keeping me company for some time now, so it's time to introduce you to what this power bank is actually like in practice.
Technical Specifications
As the name partly suggests, FIXED Zen 20 Pro is a power bank with a capacity of 20,000 mAh. It has three outputs, two of which are provided via USB-C and one via USB-A. Of course, there is support for charging via all three ports simultaneously and, perhaps most importantly and most interestingly, the power bank offers a power of up to 130W or support for the fast charging standard Power Delivery 3.0 for one of the USB-C ports. Given the performance, it is probably clear that you will enjoy fast charging of your iPhone with the power bank, for example, but also charging MacBookand even 14" Pro.
To be more specific, the performance of each port is set as follows:
- USB-C 1 with PD support - 100W
- USB-C 2 – 30W
- USB-C – 22,5W
If you need to charge multiple devices at the same time, the combination of ports will offer you the following performance:
- USB-C 1 + USB-C 2: 100W + 30W
- USB-C 1 + USB-A: 100W + 22,5W
- USB-C 2 + USB-A: (5V/3A) 15W
- USB-C1 + USB-C 2 + USB-A: 100W+(5V/3)15W
It goes without saying that the power bank has all the important protections, including protection against short circuit or overload. Thanks to this, it meets all legal and safety standards required by the European Union. If you are interested in the type of battery, it is a Li-Ion battery with a capacity of 20 mAh/000V 3,7 Wh. And how do you charge this power bank quickly? Using USB-C portWith a suitable power source (specifically at least 60W), you can do it in two hours, which is stated by both the manufacturer and me after testing the charger.
The charge level of the powerbank is checked through the LCD display on its body, on which, in addition to the charge level of the device, you will also see the output current and voltage, in the case of charging that you are charging from all three ports at the same time. If you are interested in the dimensions of the power bank, they are 133 x 25 x 83 mm at 391 grams. It's not really small, but luckily, it's also not a monster that wouldn't fit in your backpack or larger pocket.
Processing and design
FIXED's power bank shines not only with its technical specifications, but also with its design. Zen 20 Pro It has a really good design, especially thanks to the attractive combination of matte and glossy surfaces in elegant black. In white variaThis power bank is not, and for good reason – the LCD display is backlit in white, making it perfectly readable on a black background. If you are interested in controlling the power bank, everything revolves around a single button, which serves both for turning it on and for switching the display of what current and voltage is supplied by which port.
If I were to evaluate the processing of the power bank as such, there is also nothing to complain about - that is, perhaps except for the glossy surface prone to fingerprints. Although this is not the craziness that you may remember from the shiny steel frames of dark iPhones, the shiny plastic of the power bank has a tendency to sometimes "catch" some smudges, so it's nice to be aware of it. Otherwise, I really have no reservations.
Testing
ProI really like working from the garden in the summer and at the same time I'm not a fan of untangling an extension cord to which I could connect a charger from if necessary. MacBookor my other electronics, with its paper specifications, FIXED me Zen 20 Pro And I must say that the power bank did not end with the specifications alone. I thoroughly enjoyed the fast charging that the manufacturer promises in the technical specifications, especially in combination with charging the iPhone 15. Pro a MacBooku Air M3. The power bank was able to charge both of these devices simultaneously, and maxat the maximum possible speed.
If you're wondering what a 20 mAh power bank is actually good for, then it all depends on what you specifically want to charge. For example MacBook Air I managed to charge it with its 52,6 Wh battery almost once, which is fine for me considering the power bank's losses. iPhone 15 Pro I charged the power bank almost 5 times, which doesn't seem bad at all to me, quite the opposite. After all, one charge MacBooku Air This means that you can hypothetically get 18 hours of movie playback or 15 hours of web browsing. So if you were to work on the web for 7,5 hours a day, the charger would give you enough juice for 2 days of work, which is great. After all, with a fully charged MacBookem in combination with a fully charged power bank you can get up to 4 working days, which I think is awesome.
As such, charging takes place reliably without any interruptions and with relatively little heating. You'll feel it, but luckily it's not something crazy where you can't hold the power bank in your hand. What's more, you'll only feel more heating if you're charging two to three devices at the same time. When charging a single device, the waste heat generated by the power bank is quite negligible.
However, to not just praise, there is one thing that I personally would like to see in the future generation of the power bank in better shape. We are specifically talking about the display, which is perfectly legible and you can read everything important from it, but it seems a bit of a shame that there is no indicator of what output the display is currently showing and you have to infer from the information on the display what it is about it works (of course, if you are using two or more ports). It would also be nice for me if the display showed output power in addition to voltage and current. Sure, it can be calculated according to a simple formula from elementary school, but even so, a similar upgrade would be nice for better orientation.
Summary
While I didn't see much use in power banks in the past, I've started to enjoy them more and more in recent years. That's because manufacturers have transformed them from "stupid batteries with a cable" into indispensable and, most importantly, very convenient "partners". Pro For example, I really like using the FIXED MagZen 6000 and 10000 magnetic charger to charge my iPhone, and thanks to the fact that I was able to try out the Zen 20, I decided to try it out. Pro I almost want to say that for MacBook and by extension my other electronics I also have a new favorite. The usability of this power bank is simply great, both in terms of battery capacity and performance. Sure, we can talk about whether 20 mAh is not enough for long-term charging of electronics and whether the power bank should beance could not be more appropriate, but it is necessary to realize what dimensions we are talking about here. It is precisely because of the capacity of the power bank that it can still be relatively compact and therefore widely usable. So if you are looking for a reliable source of energy for your electronics in the summer, you have just found it. For the price of 1999 CZK, it is definitely a great choice.
discount code
If you are interested in the power bank, we have excellent news for you. Thanks to the discount code LSAfixed because the 10 fastest among you can get it 20% cheaper - i.e. for 1592 CZK instead of the usual 1990 CZK.
Dobrý den.
A bit of practice: Overpriced, the capacity is around 15000 mAh. Yes, the power is ok around 100W, but the manufacturer will cut you 25% of the power, it won't even turn red.
The 90Wh laptop F15 charges from 50% and is a breeze.
I Alza It can do better in terms of capacity for a price of around 500 CZK.
