Founder Facebookand the current head of Meta Mark Zuckerberg is not resting. It has only been a few weeks since he sharply stepped into the Apple Vision Pro, and here we have another dig at this product from his side. And this despite the fact that for the first criticism he received a huge amount of harsh criticism and mockery, in which many compared him to the former director Microsoftat Steve Ballmer, who briefly laughed at the iPhone shortly after its first introduction.

As in the case of his first criticism, Zuckerberg has now launched into criticism Vision Pro on the social network Threads, which is similar to the former Twitter. This time, however, the intention was not primarily to criticize, but to "just" respond to another user's post. He specifically wrote that on Threads Vision Pro is technologically where Meta Quest wants to be in 3 to 5 years and Meta Quest 3 is where it wants to be now price-wise Apple in 3 to 5 years. So while Meta was somewhat praised for the Quest 3 award with this post, Zuckerberg was thrown off his chair by the words.

In response to this post, he specifically wrote that if the Meta Quest headset were to be on par in 3 to 5 years Vision Pro, according to him, it would mean a downgrade, in other words, a step backwards and not forwards. "Quest is better. If our headset weighed the same in 3 to 5 years as Vision Pro, it also had blurring of the image when moving and so on, it would mean a downgrade for us. Yes, resolution Vision Pro is higher but Apple it has paid for it with many product compromises that make its devices worse in most ways. That's really not what we're about.” Zuckerberg let himself be heard and continued:

"Currently, 3 of the 7 most popular apps on Meta Quest are social apps, namely Horizon, VR Chat and Rec Room, Video players, browsers, and so on are also very popular. But fitness and similar applications also have a solid community. So it cannot be said that our headset is only for games and is outdated. Yes, of course, higher resolution is always better, but exchanging it for ergonomics and image blurring when moving is not a win - especially when the Quest's resolution is also very good and does not suffer from these things.

Whether Zuckerberg is right or not, of course, only time and usability will tell Vision Pro or generally the entire product line Vision present. The truth is, however, that the fuss around Vision Pro even because of its high price, it has completely died down, and it is therefore a big question how this product will fare in the future. After all, even Quest 3 is not a sales blockbuster, and its price is set at around 15 CZK. It's almost like saying that AR/VR headsets are still a world for hardcore tech fans and not for regular users with sober needs.
