Škoda Auto is preparing integration chatboot ChatGPT based on artificial intelligence into its voice assistant Laura. This will improve the driving experience for customers and help them make their everyday lives easier. This new feature will be used in Škoda models on the MEB GP and MQB EVO platforms. Laura will have access to an extensive artificial intelligence database in these cars, which will also be available while driving. This new feature is based on Cerence technology Chat Pro from partner Cerence Inc. and offers unique integration ChatGPT in the automotive industry. Personal data and vehicle information are protected at all times.

New features for a better driving experience

Nový chatbot will be offered together with the latest generation of infotainment systems from mid-2024. It will be available in the following models on the MEB GP and MQB EVO platforms: Škoda Enyaq in several selected versions, the new generation Škoda Superb and Kodiaq and the modernized Škoda Octavia. Integration ChatGPT for Škoda models, enabled by Cerence Chat Pro brings a number of new options that go beyond the current level of voice commands.

Laura can be used to control infotainment, navigation and air conditioning, for example, and to answer general knowledge questions. However, artificial intelligence will bring more possibilities in the future and will provide users with more and more information in the answers. This will be very useful while driving: richer conversation options with chatbot, answers to a variety of questions, interactions in intuitive spoken language, providing vehicle-specific information and much more - all without taking your hands off the steering wheel for even greater safety for the driver and all passengers.

Data protection as a top priority

The basis is very simple control: the voice assistant is activated by the command "OK, Lauro" or the corresponding button on the steering wheel. If the Škoda system cannot answer the request, the request is anonymously passed on to artificial intelligence. ChatHowever, GPT has no access to vehicle data or personal information. All interactions are deleted immediately after processing to ensure the highest standard of data protection. This new feature will also be available in other models of Volkswagen Group brands.
