Although many Apple fans consider Macs to be de facto virus-proof, as viruses and malware are often discussed in connection with them, minimatically, while in connection with Windows you hear about viruses almost every day, it's definitely not true. Even Macs are plagued by viruses, and what's more, they can really screw up users in a big way. Recently, it is especially the Atomic Stealer malware, which can be found on the Mac, for example, by downloading files from the Internet that look like illegal copies of paid software. Malware is most often part of it.

According to security experts, the Atomic Stealer malware primarily targets crypto wallets, browser data, system information and passwords, including those directly related to the Mac. So it is definitely not safe. However, it is worth adding that the user who is affected by the virus took the risk on his own by simply trying to download illegal copies of paid software from the Internet, so he was just getting infected. And thanks to this, users who are afraid of this malware can be given simple but effective advice on how to avoid it. It is enough to download Mac applications only from App Store, or from verified developers whose applications are approved Applem. If you already get a virus on your Mac, there is nothing left but to try to eliminate it through an antivirus program, for example CleanMyMacX.
