The days of annoyingly typing in your password via your PlayStation gamepad are coming to an end. Sony has officially announced that it is starting to support Passkey technology, which is, in very simple terms, an alternative to the classic password login. Thanks to this new feature, it will suddenly be possible to log in to your Playstation account on the web, in the app or directly on the console via Face ID, Touch ID, or an alphanumeric code for your iPhone.
The Passkey feature will of course be an alternative to a classic password, and those who do not want to use it will be able to continue to stick to the traditional password login. However, those who do not enjoy filling it in will be able to use their phone to log in to PlayStation, as by creating a security token, they will be able to log in to their account through Passkey. Face ID whether Touch IDThe entire login process should therefore be faster overall and of course it will also be more secure, as it will be Passkeys eliminates password loss because the user will have to use it less often.
It's not entirely clear when PlayStation will launch Passkey support today, and we don't know whether it will be a mass rollout or come in waves. However, if you have Passkey on your iPhone or iPad, you canCloud the password to your PlayStation account is stored on the keychain, after installing Passkey, everything will be automatically reset so that you can use it to log in Touch ID, Face ID or password from the phone, with everything being handled via the phone.
