Where to watch F1 this year is a question every true fan asks. Starting this year, after ten years, Nova took over the broadcasting rights again, and Nova made good use of it. If you were looking for F1 on Nova's existing programs, then you are out of luck. In short, you will have to pay more for F1. Nova has created new channels Nova Sport 5 and Nova Sport 6. All training sessions, qualifications, sprints and F1 races will be broadcast on Nova Sport 5.

So if you're only after F1, then you need the Nova Sport 5 and you may not be interested in the Nova Sport 6. The problem is that you currently only have two options to get to the Nova Sport 5, and in Slovakia there is only one. In the Czech Republic, Nova Sport 5 is currently only offered by O2 and Skylink. In Slovakia, only Skylink. So if you want to watch F1 with commentary from Josef Král and Štěv Eisele, you have to use the services of one of these operators.

If you are not interested in commenting, then of course you can use foreign broadcasts, for example on ORF, or the simplest option, which is F1 TV Pro. This can be obtained for €51 per year or €7,49 per month. Although you will be deprived of the commentary of Pepa and Štěvo, you will only pay for F1 and you do not have to change the operator immediately. Honestly, I'm considering just doing without a comment and I'd rather pay €51 for this season than €16 per month, or €200 per year for Skylink, when I don't watch anything but F1 on TV anyway.

It's a shame how TV Nova approached the acquisition of the rights to F1, but unfortunately we, the viewers and fans, can't do anything about it. So, if you are not an existing O2 CZ or Skylink customer, then the question is which of us is worth paying €150 a year to listen to commentary from Štěv and Josef Král instead of F1 experts.
