The times when they were in App Store na iPhoneThe days when purely paid or, conversely, purely free apps were available on iPhones or iPads are long gone. With the advent of subscriptions or the possibility of unlocking additional content through microtransactions in seemingly free apps, App Store and the associated application downloads have changed dramatically. Nowadays, it is much more difficult to come across an application that is completely free, or that is paid for right from the start, but once it is paid for before downloading, it does not ask you for anything else. It is all the more surprising that it escapes these trends App Store pros Vision Pro.

According to data published by the analytical company Appfgures is less than 53% of all applications in Vision Pro paid, with the average price of a paid app being $5,67. What is extremely interesting is that only less than 13% of apps currently in the visionOS App Store available, offers some form of subscription. There are completely free applications in the same App Store almost 35%, which is definitely not a small amount – especially when you realize that it is visionOS is a completely new platform and therefore, their creators cannot expect any big "hype" from free applications, which would be advertising for them. The current "balance of power" of applications in terms of their charging is therefore, compared to iOS, where subscription usage is currently a huge trend, is completely different and it will therefore be extremely interesting to see whether growth in this direction visionOS with iOS will it level out, or will it continue to forge its own path?
