JBL has earned an excellent reputation in the professional field audio technology, but it has also become known to users with Bluetooth speakers, PartyBoxes and, last but not least, headphones. These include the wireless Quantum 350 with a detachable microphone.onem, with which the manufacturer primarily targets the gaming community, but their advantages will also be appreciated by ordinary consumers of multimedia content or people who often participate in conference calls and the like. For macOS users, there is App Store There is a handy application called JBL QuantumENGINE available, primarily used to update firmware, but it can offer PC owners much more, such as JBL QuantumSURROUND, equalization, or access to microphone settings.

What is in the package

If you want the JBL Quantum 350 Wireless, you will receive a box with an effective print, inside which you will find headphones, a USB audio adapter, 1 m USB-A to USB-C charging cable, documentation and of course the aforementioned microphone, including wind protection, which can be connected to theonewhich is on the left side. Then you just need to plug the USB dongle into your computer and you can start pairing.

Physical properties and controls

JBL Quantum 350 Wireless Even at first contact, despite the dominant material being plastic, it definitely doesn't give the impression of being cheap. The earcups are very comfortable and even with prolonged use they don't accumulate heat, which is often a stumbling block for some more expensive competing models. Thanks to the padding, nothing will press on your head and the bridge is adjustable in six size levels at both ends. As a result, the headphones can grow from about 26 cm to 35 cm over your head. In general, they are very adaptable, both inwards and upwards and downwards, so the likelihood that they won't fit you is relatively low. The outer circumference of the earcups is 31 cm and the inner circumference is 15 cm, which is sufficient for most people. The controls are mainly integrated into the left earcup, where the microphone input is located on the front, a USB-C port for charging, an LED indicator informing about its status, a switch for activating or deactivating the microphone and a volume wheel. You can turn the entire headset on or off at the bottom on the right side of the head, where there is also a diode showing the communication status between the elements.

USB audio The adapter is no bigger than a regular flash drive and measures 3,7 cm in width (including theonewhich), 1,7 in height and 0,8 cm in depth, it does not take up much space. After inserting it into the port, you need to press the single button on the left for at least 5 seconds to start pairing, the successful completion of which is also confirmed visually by the flashing stopping.

The connection between theonewith microphoneoneWith a length of 10,7 cm, it is flexible and moldable, so it does not get in the way, but at the same time it is not a problem to find the ideal position in which you can reach maxthe ultimate clarity of your message to the other party.

The stated frequency range of the omnidirectional microphone is 100Hz to 10kHz and the resulting sound is surprisingly good for a device of this type. Impressions and ratings

Two factors probably impressed me the most about the device: the frequency and dynamic rich sound and the comfort. I worked with the Quantum 350 for several days in a row. Wireless on my head, it reminded me a bit of playing my favorite Half-Life 2 and I must say that the headset exceeded my expectations. Not only did I not feel the need to take off the headphones after a few dozen minutes due to the temperature, but I also experienced a reproduction that did not lack spatiality or very nicely rendered lower frequencies, which gamers will certainly appreciate, while the midrange was understandable without appearing aggressive. In my opinion, the highest part of the spectrum could be a little more pronounced, which would make the performance a little brighter. I also positively perceive the fact that after putting it on, no background noise disturbs a person, even when moving. In terms of range, I personally moved without loss at a distance of about 11 m across 2 rooms, but closed doors did not help the transmission much. However, it must be said that the Quantum 350 Wireless They are meant to provide listeners with the convenience of wireless operation, not to break range records. However, if you run into the next room for a drink or perhaps a tissue, you don't have to worry about interruptions.

When using the tone generator, the response around 20 Hz was still clearly audible, and I perceived it the same at the top of the spectrum up to 19 Hz. In macOS, USB audio The adapter sounds like a standard sound card, so you can use it in combination with any streaming, communication or audio processing software. As for the delay when listening, I did not notice any significant latency. I even tried recording a song excerpt via the midi keyboard in my DAW using the virtual piano vst plug-in and the impression of the game was pleasant. The headset is not very suitable for video editing or professional applications working with sound, but you will really enjoy your favorite tracks and sound details while playing Resident Evil Village. JBL simply knows how to make sound fun. As Apple the user would appreciate it if the JBL QuantumENGINE app offered the same thing that people in Windows and it would make the headphones a little more versatile, in addition to wireless operation, variano cable connection, even though they are Quantum 350 Wireless able to fully function even while charging compensates for this to some extent, with the promised 2 hours needed to reach maxI can confirm the imal capacities from experience.
