On Wednesday, January 24, the Czech film Bod obnovy arrived on Netflix. Those who follow cinema programs could have seen recently that the film was still showing in cinemas a few months ago. The movie Point of Restoration can be said to be a crime sci-fi from the future, when under certain circumstances citizens have a constitutional right to rebirth. It is therefore immediately obvious that the Point of Renewal completely deviates from some kind of captured trends of Czech filmmakers.

This is well known to the audience who took the film by storm and at the moment the film Bod obnovy is the most watched film on Czech Netflix. The film left behind on our Netflix shows like Hunters from the End of the World or In Flight, which have completely different budgets. On the other hand, it must be said that a similar ranking basically says nothing about the quality of the film and anyone who occasionally follows Czech Netflix trends may have noticed that basically any new Czech film that arrives on Netflix shortly after its premiere is ranked very high in the current viewership rankings. Proof of this is, for example, Vyšehrad: Fylm or Kazmova One Man Show. The latter film in particular is rather below average and only benefited from a strong marketing campaign. Of course, we do not want to disparage Bod obnovy in any way. In our conditions, it is truly an unprecedented work, which also enjoys relatively good reviews.
