IKEA presents three new, affordable smart water leak and motion sensors - VALLHORN, PARASOLL and BADRING. These sensors allow you to stay connected to your home even when you're not home.

With the PARASOLL, VALLHORN and BADRING smart sensors, IKEA is entering a new category of products that enable the control and monitoring of the home from anywhere in the world. Whenever the smart sensors detect any activity, users will receive a real-time notification about it. Thanks to this improvement, they are always connected to their household, no matter where they are. They can then act as needed.

"As the latest Life at Home Report, according to research, people at home care about comfort and safety. Everyone wants to feel safe at home and we are excited to enter a new sector of smart products that make life at home not only better, but also safer. We believe these products can give customers peace of mind and a greater sense of control and comfort,” he says Stjepan Begic, Product Design Developer at IKEA of Sweden.

Smart sensors are designed to be affordable and easy to use. Thanks to their elegant design, they do not draw unnecessary attention to themselves. They work independently or in combination with other smart IKEA products and offer personalization options. You can use them in the home in a variety of ways:

  • The PARASOLL door and window sensor can be inconspicuously mounted on windows or doors. When these access points are opened or closed, the sensor notifies the users, who are thus aware of any unexpected entry.
  • The VALLHORN wireless motion sensor can be placed both indoors and outdoors. When it detects motion, it activates the lights. The color and intensity of the lighting can be adjusted according to personal preferences.
  • The BADRING water leak sensor comes in handy near places where water is used. If it detects a water leak, it informs the user either by sending a notification to their mobile phone or by activating the built-in alarmu. Warning of potential dangers associated with water miniminimizes the impact of accidents, which can then be addressed immediately.

If the sensors connect to a DIRIGERA gateway that supports

, launch other smart devices, receive notifications on your mobile or adjust lighting according to your preferences – all controlled from the IKEA app Home smart, even remotely away from home.

"At IKEA, we want to make smarter living easier and more comfortable for everyone. Therefore, in the new sensors, we have combined technology with our experience with home furnishings and offer solutions that are affordable and will pleasantly improve everyday life at home." clarifies David Granath, Range Manager at IKEA of Sweden.

All three smart sensors use Zigbee software. They are connected to the IKEA system Home smart and as such will be continuously updated, offering more features and options over time.

From January 2024, PARASOLL (for 249 CZK) and VALLHORN (for 199 CZK) sensors will be on sale. The BADRING sensor (for 199 CZK) will follow in April 2024.
