When it fell into my hands NEXT Audio Modus2, it was my first introduction to this Portuguese brand. So I was not burdened with any prejudices, which big names can tempt me to do. I deliberately did not care about the price tag, with the aim of getting a first impression, regardless of the financial side of things, and gradually uncovering all the pros and cons.
So, step by step, I revealed the physical appearance,oneactivity as well as the capabilities and sound properties of the soundbar. Right out of the box, I tested it in combination with Apple TV and then with iPhoneme with Mac mini and found that its design really fits almost anywhere and considering the weight, I wouldn't be afraid to put it in a backpack for regular listening on the go or when running presentations with related media from MacBooku.
The device also offers several nice features in the form of an integrated battery, FM tuner, the ability to make phone calls and play from USB or Micro SD card. Also interesting is the ability of the soundbar to recognize the insertion of a 3,5mm cable into theonewhich can automatically switch to AUX mode.

The slim box, whose dimensions suggest that the Modus2 won't take up too much space, houses the soundbar itself, a 3,5mm audio a 50 cm cable for direct connection of an external audio source, a USB-A to Micro USB power cable of the same length and a small box containing a remote control powered by 2 AAA batteries. To put the product into operation, simply remove the transport protection elements, insert the USB and Modus2 is ready for use.

The inconspicuous, white-illuminated control elements, which include 5 buttons, can be found on the upper side. The first one in the row is used to turn Modus2 on or off. There are also minus and plus mediating with a short press to increase and decrease the volume and a long shift between tracks or FM radio stations. Behind them, we already come across the "play" icon, which fulfills the classic function of starting or pausing playback, in FM and AUX mode it will immediately mute or cancel it, and holding it down in FM mode will start scanning stations, while the same button can also be used with a short touch to receiving a call and when it is long to end it. The last element marked with the letter "M" provides access to the choice of mode or source. Specifically, it can be a line input, FM tuner, Bluetooth, USB or memory card, which support MP3 and WAV formats.

Modus2 boasts really decent performance for its size.onem 20 W. It is equipped with a pair of 2″ tweeters and two passive bass radiators (subwoofers). The soundbar is powered by a 10 mAh battery, which can be recharged to 4000% in approximately 100 to 3 hours and can then provide 4 to 4 hours of playback.
Usage and personal impressions
Mode2 from NEXT Audio It is one of those devices that will suit normal listening just as well under a TV as it does under a computer monitor or on a shelf in the bedroom. I was personally surprised by the performance, which is much more powerful for a soundbar of these dimensions, and the spatiality is also above average. Of course, you cannot expect powerful bass that an 8″ or 10″ subwoofer could emit, but you wouldn’t want to put that in your bag. At the same time, the portability and versatility of the Modus2 are a big plus here. The sound performance is a little more pronounced in the midrange, but not in an aggressive way. This also contributes to very good intelligibility of dialogues when watching movies, and if you give the soundbar a little more bass from the equalizer, it will handle it admirably well. As for the remains of fingerprints adhering to the surface, you will probably come across some traces of them, but it is nothing dramatic. I didn't encounter any problems with connection stability during testing, and the speaker connected to the last paired counterpart fairly quickly after turning it on.
Price
And now comes the surprise. During testing, I tried to estimate the price and I have to say that I guessed much higher. Modus2 on the site DISC Multimedia It costs only 1 CZK, which is an unexpectedly low price tag for a product of these capabilities and qualities. Whether you are considering improving the sound of your TV, laptop, or just want to listen while cooking,chat favorite songs, wherever you place it, the Modus2 will provide you with a pleasant spatial experience. I enjoyed its company with music, movies, and podcasts.
