This is exactly the thought that has been running through my head more and more often in recent weeks, but fortunately only in connection with my iPhonem 15 Pro, which I use both in my work and personal life. It is a great phone, which I like in terms of design, I enjoy its functions and in short, it is almost what I think it should be. However, the word “almost” is very important in the previous sentence. I feel more and more that this phone lacks the five-fold optical zoom from the iPhone 15 Pro for perfection. I won't lie to you. When Apple in September iPhone 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max introduced, I was not one of those who would be completely disappointed with the five-fold optical zoom, quite the opposite. I was more likely to think that you would find yourself in situations where it would be more advantageous to use the three-fold optical zoom that iPhones have offered so far than the five-fold one that is currently available. iPhonech 15 For the triple optics replaced. I was even more gnawed at after I iPhonem 15 Pro Max spent a day and was able to try it out right next to the iPhone 15 Pro in terms of its photo capabilities. At that moment, I fully realized that the five-fold zoom not only makes sense, but it seems to me that it makes much more sense than the three-fold. The answer to the question of why this is so is not complicated - because there is not that much of a jump in zoom between two and three times optical zoom, while the difference between two and five times zoom is already noticeable. Just for the record - please don't understand me as saying that I am not satisfied with the three-fold zoom of the iPhone 15 Pro, because on the contrary I am. But this year it is a different satisfaction than last year, when you know that something better is available, while last year there was nothing like that.

Apple After years of the same iPhones in the Pro series (except for battery life, of course), it has once again put us in a situation where we have to decide whether compactness or a more interestingly designed camera is more important to you. And although compactness may seem like the clear winner at first, if you are still iPhone 15Pro (Max) and you are thinking about it, I recommend that you think carefully about your choice, because first impressions can be deceiving to some extent. For example, I now openly admit that although I have my iPhone I really like the 15 Pro and I enjoy its compactness, I believe I would enjoy it more iPhone 15 Pro Max, although it was out of the question for me after the presentation for the reasons described above. So yes, now after the experience of the previous months I would rather reach for the 15 Pro model Max than 15 Pro, if you ask me this. So I will definitely be wiser next time, if there is any need for any thinking “for next time”. Because next year they will probably deploy Apple five times optical zoom even on the smaller iPhone Pro and thus saves us from having to choose between compactness and a camera. And I I think it will be just fine.

I switched from ip12pm and ip13pm and the 5x zoom is stupid. I've been saying it since the beginning and I still stand by it. The problem is that the 5x zoom has replaced 2x and 3x, which are much more useful. Result? When you shoot 3x zoom with io15pm, the quality is much worse than with ip13pm! Because most of the time it is not possible to use a suitable camera at once, but a 1x camera must handle everything, 1x, 2x and 3x, digital approximation. Yuck.

I mainly take photos with my mobile phone at shorter distances, for longer distances (for example, when I want to take pictures of birds at a feeder) I prefer to use a camera with a fixed lens. So 3x optical zoom on a mobile phone is completely enough, I even consider it better. The lens is important = optical zoom. For Max up to 4x zoom, it only zooms digitally, which must be noticeable at higher values (XNUMXx and more). At that point, the Pro uses a more suitable lens...
So I don't want to argue with you, but myself Apple it writes in the technical specifications about five times optical zoom, not digital. The quality of this zoom really cannot be denied.
I agree with you, Pro Max has a 5x optical zoom. Therefore, its main lens must cover the entire range from 1x to 5x. While the Pro zooms (= crops) with the main lens only up to 3x and then uses a more suitable lens, the Pro Max It digitally zooms from the main lens up to 5x. In short, the difference is in the range of 3x to 5x. And for me, the range up to 5x seems more important for everyday photography (I only need a larger zoom exceptionally, I prefer to take a classic camera), so I consider the composition of lenses on the Pro to be better. But I understand that it is a matter of personal preference, just like the opinion on replacing the silent mode switch with an action button. I am not happy about that either, although I have already gotten used to it…
