The recently introduced iPhone 15 (Pro) seems to have caught the attention of the world much more than it might have seemed at first glance. Analytical company Counterpoint Research has published a very interesting report on the overall state of the global smartphone market, which indirectly confirms that there was unprecedented interest in new "apples" in October. And even such that it helped reverse a long-lasting trend.

It's no secret that the smartphone market has been on a downward spiral in recent months. Its decline began already in June 2021, apparently as an echo of the COVID-19 pandemic, and continued quite surprisingly for the next 27 consecutive months - i.e. until September 2023. However, October of this year changed this trend, and given that it was at the end of September that the to sell the new iPhones that began to flow to apple sellers in October, it is very likely that it was the new "fifteens" that helped to restart the smartphone market. Just for fun, it's up a solid 5% year-over-year, which could be a good sign for smartphone makers. Smartphones are for many a key component of their business, and lower sales were logically perceived very negatively.
