It may seem almost unbelievable, but the legendary shooter Half-Life this year - specifically on November 19 -  celebrates its 25th anniversary of publication. And although Valve, who is behind this title, has never been too slow to celebrate anything in the past, they have now made an exception. Rather unexpectedly, it released a big update that will make the game more attractive as part of the anniversary celebrations, and what's even better, it is now giving it away completely free on Steam, both for Windows, as well as for Mac.

If you are already a junior and have no idea what the game is about, we will explain it to you in a few lines. The game follows the story of a scientist named Gordon Freeman who finds himself at war with alien beings after a failed experiment at the Black Mesa research station. One of the defining features of the game is the absence of any hint of loading or pauses, creating a smooth and intense experience. At its inception, Half-Life was praised for its innovative approach to story and game design, making it a cult title in computer gaming. The game had a significant influence on the development of the gaming industry and inspired many other games.

Now, i.e. after 25 years of its existence, it is already a rather prehistoric piece, but thanks to the 25th Anniversary Update, it is still not bad to remember its release and perhaps even to some extent realize how games have moved in 25 years and what on the contrary, it holds before. As part of the update, for example, Half-Life: Uplink was added to the main menu, which is a version of the game that until now was only available on CD for printed magazines. The multiplayer, for example, has seen a big improvement, in which new maps have arrived. In short and well, there is definitely something to test, especially since the title is now free on Steam. But be careful, the event ends on 20/11 at 19:00.
