Bluetooth accompanies us almost every step of the way, and we most often associate it with sound, although the possibilities of this technology are much wider. A well-known manufacturer not only in the Czech environment orava has taken it in its own way and offers its customers a range of wireless speakers under the Crater brand. This family also includes the Crater L, a party box that provides very balanced sound quality with decent performance.onewith its equipment, capable of being powered from the mains or via an integrated battery, with which you can conjure up the right atmosphere at a party, barbecue, or on the playground, chator in your living room.
What's in the package?
Crater L is not a complete crumb, which is also reflected in the packaging. During transport, the polystyrene form prevents damage from above and below, and after removing the protective plastic, you will find the speaker box itself together with the remote control, power adapter, 3,5 mm cable with a length of 1 m and a well-structured manual in several language mutations. 2 AAA batteries are required to operate the remote control.

Design, equipment and physical parameters
The black Crater L is not particularly distinctive in terms of design, so at first glance it does not differ significantly from competing products of the same type. However, upon closer inspection, some of the features are already visible. Not every party speaker can offer such a feature set, with slots andoneIn addition to the usual USB, the presence of a micro SD card reader is not so common anymore, and if we add to that a 3,5mm stereo AUX input, the possibility of connecting a pair of microphones or even an electric guitar, which I personally tried on the 6,3mm MIC 2 input, and an FM radio, it is quite above standard.

The speaker box takes up 26,8 cm in width, 61,6 cm in height and 27,1 cm in depth. The groove in the upper part near the control allows you to place a phone or a smaller tablet here, if it is not wider than 16 cm and does not exceed approximately 1,7 cm in thickness. For a product such as a party speaker, it is assumed that you will probably want to move it around, which the 5,5 kg weight accommodates. When carrying, you will also appreciate the handy handle on the back, where we can also find an antenna for FM reception. There is also typical LED lighting in colorful colors with several modes responding to music and a practical information display.
Control
Control is quite intuitive. It all starts with the classic switch. After switching it on, the individual elements are highlighted by backlighting, specifically for moving forward and backward, access to LED lighting with the appropriate symbol and a button for starting or pausing playback, which are followed by Menu and Mode below on the sides. In the middle is a large rotary control. At first start-up, the speaker is immediately ready for use in Bluetooth mode, which the display informs by displaying "bLUE", below which the battery charge status can be seen. Pairing itself is very quick and hassle-free, with the Crater L automatically re-connecting to the last device every time you turn it back on.
Using the Menu and the center encoder, you can choose between the volume of the played content, equalization of treble and bass, and also control the microphone inputs and even, if desired, add an echo effect to them, the level of which is adjustable between 0 and 10. The Mode button then allows you to switch between Bluetooth, FM radio and line input. If you want to listen tochat from a flash drive or memory card, just insert the media in any mode, Crater will switch to USB and start reading from it.

What can a Crater L device be used for? It is primarily intended for events, parties and the like, but it can also serve as a karaoke set with which you can test your singing skills, a simple device for singing guitar players or perhaps trainers and conference hosts, but also as a carrier of a really pleasant listening experience, especially in the case stereo pairing of two pieces.
Personal impressions and sound characteristics
Structurally, the Crater L is in good condition, it does not creak or click when handling it, as is sometimes the case with some cheap party speakers. The surface is not particularly susceptible to fingerprints, but you may occasionally come across some traces of them.
The performance is sufficient for most common situations, it's not a system that will "break down the walls", but it feels very full and dynamic, especially if you "feed" the bass in the settings. The sound does not "stick out" in any band and the performance is compact, even if you turn the volume all the way to the right. When testing with a wake-up level of about 30%, I got beyond the recommended 5 hours, so the battery does its job well considering the capacity. Crater can also be enjoyed with a guitar, of course it's not a guitar combo, but the sensitivity of the input is sufficient, so nothing prevents you from practicing with backing tracks or jamming.
