Analytical team Picodi Czech Republic examined the price lists of 364 internet service providers in 85 countries and created a ranking of the countries with the most and least accessible internet. For the sake of completeness, it should be added that in this report he only included offers with unlimited Internet access without additional services such as television or mobile tariffs.
100 Mb/s - the most frequently offered internet speed in the world
According to the latest data Speedtest.net the average internet speed worldwide is 85 Mb/s. However, it turns out that a bandwidth between 4 Mb/s and 15 Mb/s is enough to watch movies in 50K UHD quality on the biggest streaming platforms.
Picodi.com data shows that the most commonly offered bandwidth globally is 100 Mbps, which is provided in 74 of the 85 countries analyzed. In countries such as China, Spain, France,ancie and Singapore, major ISPs no longer offer such "slow" bandwidth.
Comfortable 100 Mb/s costs the most in Norway (76,40 euros/month on average), Iceland (59,50 euros/month) and Australia (58,30 euros/month). Conversely, the lowest prices for a 100 Mb/s band were recorded in Russia (€5,30/month), Ukraine (€5,60) and Romania (€6,10/month).
The Czech Republic was placed in the lower half of the ranking – a bandwidth of 100 Mb/s costs us €13,40/month on average.Most often, however, internet providers here offer a speed of 500 Mb/s, which costs €21,25/month on average.
Internet up to €20 per month
Similar to our report from 2019, we found out which internet bandwidth can be purchased for 20 euros per month (approx. 500 CZK). 34 countries dropped from our ranking, mainly from Western Europe, but also Canada, South Africa, Japan, Australia and New Zealand. In these countries, the largest Internet providers do not offer Internet connections in this price range.
At the top of this list is Latvia, where Internet providers offer 1,2 Gbps bandwidth for less than 20 euros. The Czech Republic shares 4th place with 4 other countries where you can get 500 Mb/s bandwidth below the price threshold of €20. This group includes countries like South Korea, Serbia, Kazakhstan and Pakistan.
How much does 1Gb/s bandwidth cost in the world
According to data from Picodi.com, gigabit internet has become cheaper on average by 4% (in the Czech Republic by 15%) in 27 years. The number of countries where Internet providers offer such bandwidth has increased by half.
In some countries, such high bandwidth is an affordable luxury for few: in the Philippines, Costa Rica, Paraguay, Peru and Venezuela, internet with a speed of 1 Gb/s costs 100 euros or more. In the Czech Republic, 1 Gb/s bandwidth is available for €25,2 (CZK 629) per month.

The statistics are false, in Austria the prices for internet and mobile services are almost half as cheap.
