After a long wait he presented Apple this year on WWDC new Mac Pro. In terms of design, it is almost the same as the old one, but instead of Intel, you will find processors from Applu specifically M2 Ultra. Apple although it drastically reduced the price of this machine and while in the highest configuration with Intel you paid 1,6 million crowns for the machine, in the case of the current version with M2 Ultra you highest configuration nestIt's not even a quarter. You can buy it for 360 thousand crowns, which is a hell of a difference compared to 1,6 million. However, there is one major catch.
The same processor it offers Apple in Mac Pro, also offers in Mac Studio and you can even like Mac Pro, so at Mac Studio pay the same amount for it to be onen processor to offer more CPU and GPU cores. The problem is that while for Mac Pro you will pay 199 CZK in the basic configuration, for Mac Studio in the same configuration you will pay only 119 CZK. Apple will charge 80 thousand crowns for the body and slots for specialized cards. That's okay, because those who need these cards and don't have theancand solve them externally by connecting them to Mac Studio, so they probably know very well why they pay for Mac Pro and it's their production tool. The excavator also doesn't think much about the fact that his barg costs more than a new Lamborghini. But if you don't need these cards, then there's no reason to buy them. Mac Pro.
Everything has one more catch. Apple showed a new one a few weeks ago MacBook Pro with M3 processors, M3 Pro and M3 Max.M3 processors Max while offering almost identical performance as M2 Ultra on Mac Pro and Mac StudioSo buying one of these machines nowadays means that you absolutely need it in case of Mac Pro place for specific cards, whether audio, graphics or rendering, or in the case of Mac Studio you need 4 Thunderbolt ports and not the 3 it offers MacBook Pro 16″, or the RAM you can have in MacBooku maxat least 128 GB, while in the case of Studio it's 192GB. So it seems that the processors from AppThey are too good, so good that in some cases they cannibalize themselves.
M1 is enough for most…
I absolutely agree
The stupid thing is that the update is only a few years away, while the current performance of the M processor would be sufficient for a significantly longer period of time - and I'm not even talking about the Pro processors. Ultra in connection with higher memory.
I bought this at iStyle a few days ago Mac Studio M1 Ultra 32GB 1TB with a 50k discount, over 40% discount, I'm sure it will be enough for a long time in terms of performance, and for this money I won't leave it there ;)
WOW, good buy. I'm looking at it now, for less than about 70K, quite a great configuration.
Apple cannibalizes older models by deliberately slowing them down with each new model. For example, on my MacBookOn the 16” M1 Pro in the 16GB/1TB configuration, I'm looking at the difference between Monterey and Sonoma - since I'm a strong opponent of the new UI (I just don't like the System Preferences on newer versions because it's ugly, less clear, and looks like Settings on an iPad), I refused to update mine. On the other hand, a colleague, enthusiast, and fan has already picked up a Sonoma, he has the same one MacBook in the same configuration and man, it's amazing, on mine with Monterey the scrolling is smoother than on Sonoma. On both it is turned on ProMotion and yet it looks like the SAME MacBookbut with the newer system the refresh rate was intentionally reduced to make it seem slower compared to the new models. So I couldn't stand it and I did one more test - I took the old one out of the drawer iPhone X from the drawer, which I crushed 3 years ago, for example by playing COD Mobile at full speed, has been honestly updated by everyone iOS, and even then it was working with a new battery but iOS 16.7 stuck and slow compared to my mom's X which was still there iOS 13 and battery 79%. So yeah. iPhones are powerful enough. MacBookYou too. Apple processors have always been, are and will be powerful enough for the next 5+ years, but new models must be sold. The slowing down is intentional all the time.
