Following the addition of the Memory Saver feature earlier this year, the desktop version of Google's web browser will now Chrome Provide users with information about memory usage when hovering over a given tab.

If in the latest version of the Google web browser Chrome on Mac, Windows or in another desktop operating system, if you point the mouse cursor at the selected tab at the top of the browser window, you will see a small pop-up window, which, in addition to the page name and domain, will also show memory usage. This simple but highly useful feature allows you to find out which sites are putting a particular strain on your system.

If you are on previous versions of the browser Chrome from Google wanted to stop running overly demanding tabs – or rather, find out which tabs are using the most memory on your computer – you had to click on the three-dot icon in the upper right corner -> More tools -> Task manager. The new feature follows on from previously introduced tools for better control and management of memory and performance. While the power saving mode can limit background activity along with visual effects, the memory management tool can “overdraw” the memory used by inactive tabs. Displaying information about memory usage should be available for the current version of the Google browser Chrome for macOS, Windows, Linux and ChromeOS. You can also activate it in your browser settings at chrome://flags/#memory-saver-memory-usage-in-hovercards
