It hasn't been long since the iPod celebrated another anniversary. The device was first introduced on October 23, 2001 and into the memory zone Apple shipped the last device, the seventh-generation iPod touch, in May of last year. With the sale of stocks, one chapter of the company's once key product was thus closed. According to the server FastCompany however, vintage technology retailer Retrospekt has revived the fifth-generation iPod by making the website Urban Outfitters offered "refurbished and restored" pieces.
They got a new battery and 128GB flash memory. The description on the seller's website noted that this particular iPod model was from 2007, and each buyer received an original sync cable Apple and headphones. When this iPod was first released, it cost $249. Urban Outfitters offered its refurbished variantu for $349 and all stocks were quickly sold out.
After Apple entered the scene with iPhonem, sold approximately 40 million iPods a year. When the phone was introduced in January 2007, the late Steve Jobs marked iPhone for the "widescreen iPod with touch control." The first iPod touch was introduced in September 2007 and ran on the same operating system as the iPhone.
We don't know how many units Urban Outfitter had available, but in this day and age it's a bit surprising that there's so much interest in an MP3 player.oneAfter all, most of us today use our smartphones to listen to music or podcasts, and play content through wireless headphones like AirSubs.

It is currently unknown if Retrospekt plans to refurbish and restore more 5th generation iPods, or if they will focus on other models of these players. With all the pieces available at Urban Outfitters finding their customers, it seems economically prudent to continue to ride the wave of nostalgia that has fueled consumers' investment.
