Although new Macs will launch with M3 chips, M3 Pro and M3 Max sell only next week on Tuesday, Apple has already prepared the first patch update of the macOS Sonoma operating system for them. Specifically, macOS Sonoma 14.1 with the designation 23B2077 will be available to them, while version 23B2073 will be pre-installed in Macs as such.

Preparing software updates for unreleased products is not for Apple nothing new, on the contrary. For example, it is quite common for iPhones to be updated right out of the box after they go on sale, otherwise it would not be possible to activate them. This happens because Apple he tests the products de facto before the start of sales (and of course also after), which enables him to constantly find all kinds of errors in them and subsequently correct them. The update immediately after the release of the update is therefore rather positive as a result, as it brings what would otherwise be the case Apple fixed later in one of the future updates and thus hypothetically the experience of new Macs would suffer.
