Alone Apple claims in the patent application that it would the system would obtain a depth image of the scene that would be monitored. The patent is, as usual, very confusing and technical. However, the text itself comes with several examples. HomeFor example, the Pod could determine from hand movements that the user wants to change the volume. Or it could stop playing once the last person leaves the room. But the patent doesn't want to limit itself to learned gestures. HomeIn the future, the Pod could be able to evaluate that an older person is listening to it, who generally needs a higher volume. The Apple speaker would then adjust it based on the data detected. However, the text of the patent application mainly deals with detecting and interpreting gestures. In conclusion, however, it is appropriate to add, as usual, that Apple owns a plethora of patents and only a small percentage of them will ever be put into practice.
