Over the past few freezing days, I have been using the My BMW app every day when I return from a morning walk with the dog to turn on the auxiliary heater and get into a warm car. It was because of the frequency of use that I thought I would also add widget this application for faster heating start-up. Unfortunately, around that time I started to realize that the battery percentage on my iPhone literally disappears before my eyes. Considering that I have had the phone for about four months and the battery condition is 100%, I could immediately rule out a bad battery and so I started looking.

The first thing to do is to look at the battery usage of individual applications, where at first glance it seemed that nothing was draining the battery more than standard. Onen widget from BMW actually didn't use the app at all, at least according to the App Usage report, it wasn't until I selected the option to show activity that I noticed how much it was running in the background. Widget In addition, it constantly communicates with the vehicle to, for example, know if everything is okay in the car or inform you about the tank filling status. In the view activity overview, I found that onen widget has been running for 10 hours in the last ten days, which is quite a lot. After removing widgetbattery consumption has returned to normal.

So, if out of the blue your phone starts consuming more power than you're used to, the best option is to take a good look at the application activities in the battery settings and see if there's anything suspicious there. Alternatively, just remember what you've changed on your phone lately and roll it back.
