Film producer Pat Cassidy won't remember the flight from Austin to Los Angeles fondly. During the flight, he wanted to work on his film as usual. MacBooku. This is also taken into account by the seating on the aircraft and the tables are designed so that you can comfortably place your computer in them and it will not move even during turbulence. Unfortunately, the table does take turbulence into account, but what it does not take into account is the possibility that the passenger in front of you will fold their seat. Unfortunately, this happened and because the top part MacBooku, i.e. its display, was pushed against the seat, the display cracked and the computer was damaged.
Cassidy wrote on his Twitter: "It would be nice if the seat had some kind of warning sign to tell you how to prevent damage to the computer when the passenger in front of you reclines the seat. The flight attendant just informed me that the passenger in front of me must be able to recline his seat because the traffic conditions allow him to do so, but she did not answer whether it was okay that he had just destroyed something that sustains me."
The airline is distancing itself further from the issue.ancovala and after the post was published, a rather big battle broke out on social media about whether people should have the right to fold their seats down whenever they want. The result, however, is that MacBook It is damaged and neither the passenger nor the airline has paid for it. So if you are traveling, be careful of such things, because sometimes an accident can happen that you would not even think about.
I would ban the folding of the seats. There is already not enough space and someone will still fold it. I note that I am thinner. To me, it's quite inconsiderate. I also never put the seat down so that it also has some space.
For me, I would ask if I can fold down the seat.
There is no ideal solution.
1. Business class is expensive.
2. Better places with more prosstorem for legs they have non-reclining seats and cost a few crowns extra. If you fly at night, the lousy angle will ruin your whole night…
3. Normal seats can be folded down, so this can be a good solution…
Yes I agree. It is about the decency of people to ask if the person in question will mind the reclining of the seat. A neck pillow is good for sleeping. You move your legs a little under the person in front of you and put your head on the shoulder where the pillow is. It's not much, but it can be done😁
Mr. Michal - I have one more question. If I ask politely and the passenger behind me won't let me (even though he can recline his seat anyway and thus preserve his space), will I be up for, say, 11 hours with a broken neck in an upright position?
That's a really great point, you probably only fly short haul a few times a year for vacations, otherwise you wouldn't be able to write something like this. In addition, the seats can't be folded down that much and you always have the option to fold it down as well.
Passengers with a computer/tablet, etc., must take this into account. I would never have thought of fitting a computer screen between the table and the backrest the way this traveler did. Tribute is paid for stupidity...
I agree, I am also always very careful. It's just stupid... Otherwise, yes, if one row was removed on the plane, everyone would get 10 mm of extra space :D So how many rows would have to be removed to make it comfortable? And no one will do that...
Mr. Tomáš. We are just talking about the decency to ask. If you ask someone politely, they will definitely comply 😉 On an 11-hour flight, everyone will probably lie down and rest (it can be assumed) and especially for such a flight there is another plane that is more spacious. Yes, I fly routes of 2-6 hours and I have long legs. So if someone would lie down all the way, my knees would break 🤣. I can't even remember if Ryanairair do they have reclining seats at all? They are quite thin compared to the planes (and there is quite a bit of legroom) that fly to Egypt, etc. I wish you comfortable flights in the future
Can someone explain to me exactly how it got damaged MacBook? Because I still somehow don't understand how a support that moves straight with him would destroy him.
I assume that it does not move at all, that it is designed so that it has a "horizontal" (parallel to the structure of the aircraft) inclination even when the backrest is folded down, so that it is not slanted when the seat is folded down (everything would fall from it).
So, on the one hand, the angle between it and the seat will decrease, and the end of the seat will be closer to the backrest, and the 16″ display will be sprayed there macbookat…
That seat has a mechanism that keeps the table "horizontal" even when folded. Therefore, the table actually folds a bit into the seat. The laptop was a display inside the space for a completely closed desk. So during that partial tilt, the display rested on the edge of the table top cut-out, bucked and cracked.
The problem is that the table is not intended for a laptop, the place for the folded table does not have a smooth transition, so that something like this cannot be sprayed there. Just an unexpected case with an unpleasant result.
Two "fools". One folds the seat without pointing it out because he can. The other stuffs an expensive laptop into a cramped space because he can. The one with the laptop is dumber, because he just has to look after this. When he pulls out the laptop.
