Larger touch surface
In recent weeks, there has been speculation that a new HomeA pod with a larger touch surface. This speculation was indeed correct, but only half-heartedly – it was also expected that the surface would have a full-fledged display through which we would be able to control music. Unfortunately, it is still the classic touch surface that we already know, only it is larger, and really significantly so.
Temperature and humidity sensor
One of the main innovations that the new HomeUnderneath, there is the possibility of measuring temperature and humidity, using an integrated sensor. This is useful not only from an information point of view, but also for creating various automations that can do something depending on the ambient temperature and humidity. This can be, for example, automatic control of blinds, heating or, for example, a smart air purifier, etc. It is necessary to mention that the temperature and humidity sensor also has HomeUnder mini and will be operational in OS 16.3.

Fewer microphones and tweeters
Nový HomeThe Pod has a total of four microphones, while the first generation had six. It's important to note, however, that the larger number doesn't really matter in this case. The new microphones are better than the previous ones, so there's no need to use as many. For example, they support a feature that will let you Siri can be heard from a much greater distance. In addition to the lower number of microphones, the new HomeThere are also fewer tweeters, specifically five instead of the seven that the original generation boasted. In this case, we will see if the reduction in the number of tweeters will have any significant effect on the sound performance.
The S7 chip
While HomeThe first generation had an A8 chip built into its guts, which came from the iPhone 6 (Plus), while its new generation has a chip labeled S7, which we know from Apple Watch Series 7. Originally, according to speculation, it was expected that the S8 chip would be used, i.e. the newest "watch" chip that they have Apple Watch Series 8 or UltraHowever, it is necessary to mention that the S8, S7 and S6 chips are completely identical in specifications and the difference is only in the marking, so the use of the S8 would not have any major impact. Apple states that the S7 chip will make the sound of the new HomeMuch better.

Detachable cable
If you decide to remove the cable from the original HomePodu, you would need brute force to do that. Simply put, the cable HomeThe first generation Pod wasn't exactly designed to be unplugged frequently. But that's not the case with the new one. HomeThe second generation Pod has changed that. It now has a power cable that is easily detachable, so whenever you want to unplug it, you can do it easily.

Another improvement that the new one boasts HomeUnder, is the presence ultra-wideband chip U1. We can already recognize this chip from HomeOn the floor mini, anyway original HomeIt didn't have one. Original HomeThe Pod was introduced in 2018 with the idea of Apple decided to discontinue its sales after three years. This was mainly due to lower demand, which was caused by the price being too high. So that a new HomeThe pod caught the eye and sold well, so it was clear that Apple will have to come with a lower price and great improvements. Price of the second generation HomeThe Pod is officially priced at $299, which is $50 less than the first generation. The discount is certainly nice and significant, but does this mean that Appwill you manage to entice apple lovers to buy a new one? HomeIt's not entirely clear - after all, there isn't that much news.
Lighter and lower
The final difference between the first and second generation HomeThe weight and size of the pod are new. HomeThe Pod is about 150 grams lighter, weighing 2,34 kilograms, compared to 2,49 kilograms for the original generation. It is also important to mention that the new HomeThe bottom is also lower, about half a centimeter. HomeThe second-generation Pod is specifically 16,76 centimeters tall, while the first generation was 17,27 centimeters tall. As for the width, it remained the same, at 14,22 centimeters.
