Smart speaker fans HomePods will soon come into their own, according to very well-informed reporter Mark Gurman. His sources, apparently coming directly from Applu came a few hours ago with the claim that the unveiling of a new big one is planned relatively soon HomePod, which was discontinued in March 2021 due to low sales. However, this is exactly what the new generation of this device is supposed to address.
From the information that the Gurmans managed to find out, it follows that the new generation of the great HomeThe Pod is expected to be based heavily on its predecessor, with the only significant design upgrade being the top touchpad, which will likely be more or less the same as the HomePods miniThe device's performance will now be handled by a chip Apple S8 used in the latest Apple Watch with the fact that the sound system was also supposed to be upgraded, thanks to which the new product should play better. But perhaps most importantly, it has Apple at the new one HomeIt is planned to set a much more aggressive price than the first generation, thanks to which it should perform much better in sales. It is not possible to tell exactly when the new product will arrive from the information "relatively soon", however, given that the first generation of this product was introduced to the world at WWDC, it wouldn't be surprising if it happened this year as well. But who knows, maybe we'll see the performance today.
They could especially ditch the availability policy and offer it in markets where it is not localized. SiriThat would certainly boost sales too.
A bit of an OT question for the hoompoda guys. Can you homeset as default speaker for apple tv or is it somehow broken and apple tv always prefers the TV as the default speaker? Thanks!!!
Can be set as default.
Thank you for the reassurance.
Can not only be set as the default output but if it is Apple TV connected to the TV via HDMI ARC, the TV and the devices connected to it play via homeeven if it is Apple TV off. For example, if you play on a console, the sound goes through homepods. I use it like this with a stereo pair homepod mini.
Even in connection Apple TV it can also be set as the main speaker for some TVs that have eHDMI and thus play sound from classic TVs, game consoles, DVD players, etc.. Very handy function
Thanks, that's great, I'll keep that in mind when choosing a new TV.
As if Apple TV I can feed sound, for example, from the aforementioned console via HDMI and from Apple TV then send the sound to HomeOkay? Thanks.
Yes apple tv is used as a bridge and does not have to be switched on. It is enough that it is connected to the TV with an HDMI cable and it is enabled by software apple tv and the TV itself too
Yes, exactly if, she wants it to be Apple TV connected from the TV with an HDMI cable via the e-HDMI input of the TV and it must be enabled by software in apple tv settings and also in the TV settings. Then alone Apple TV it can also turn off and the sound will go on Homecan
I will add that you need to have this Apple 4K 2021 and newer, I use it like that with the originals HomePods in stereo, Dolby Atmos It also works through XBOX.
Thank you for your reply. I HomeI use the stereo speakers for my Mac, which only has AirPlay in version 1 and the audio delay is depressing, so I'm thinking of running it through the aforementioned ATV (HDMI connection) which will get me to AirPlay 2. I hope my reasoning is correct and it will work.
Looking in vain for something other than the "aggressive price" why buy it - and I can't think of anything ♂️ 🤷
