This year's presidential election in the Czech Republic will take on a new dimension for iPhone users. Thanks to the support of interactive widgets, which Apple introduced into the operating system in the past iOS, namely, Apple users will be able to follow the ongoing results of the presidential election directly on the home screen of their iPhones - without having to check everything, for example, on the Internet or through news applications.

Widget Czech Television decided to deploy it specifically for the presidential elections through its news application ČT24. The form widgetYou can view it in the gallery above this paragraph, but if you want to place it on your iPhone's home screen, you can easily do so via the classic system interface for adding widgetu to your desktop. However, it is necessary that you have the ČT24 application downloaded from App Store, updated and to have notifications enabled for it – as you can see in the gallery below. It is a bit of a shame that it is (at least at the time of writing this article) widget on the one hand completely inactive (after all, mini(at least some of the faces of the candidates could shine in it) and firstly only in one version, while Apple allows you to create widgety on the screen in several versions, however, it is still an initiative for which Czech Television definitely deserves praise. And who knows, maybe in the second round of the presidential elections, in which only two candidates will face each other, they will delight us with the integration widgetu do Dynamic Islandfor iPhones 14 Pro (Max). After all, such a use would certainly make sense.
CT cries that the concession fees are small, but they constantly create such crap beyond any obligation. How much did this fun cost? And all this for one or two afternoons when they will add it up. The same goes for other things like pointless games on the Déčka website, too many TV programs, etc.onelong ago, the operation of film laboratories and many other things, there would be a lot of it. Why does it need to do this? Why doesn't the Czech Statistical Office, for example, present this application, where I would understand it and it could certainly be used for other statistics. Just to be clear - I have no need to criticize CT, on the contrary, I perceive its operation as very important and many of the things it does make sense to me. I just don't understand why it does things that no one legally requires it to do and then cries that it doesn't have money.
The concession fee hasn't changed for 15 years. And it costs like a pack of cigarettes. Are you working for a salary from 2008? Or do you whine to your boss every year and ask for a raise? By the way, a new director of CT will be elected in June, so I expect you to apply. You absolutely did not understand what I wrote there. This whole problem arises precisely because of the unchangeable concession fee. Precisely because the fee has not changed for 15 years, CT should limit any unnecessary expenses. Personally, I am not in favor of increasing fees in a situation where CT offers a lot of services that are not required by law.
