It's been two years since I wrote an article about the RWB model Apple Porsche 1:18 by GT Spirit. In those two years, the model became a real rarity. If you are lucky enough to appear on eBay once in a while, you will hardly get below €600 with the selling price, and that is quite a lot for a toy car model. Fortunately, there is a solution, albeit in 1:43 scale. This model came from IXO Models and its full name is Porsche RWB 930 #89 Apple Computer Inc. 1:43 Ixo Models. This is a model of the legendary Porsche 930 rebuild by RWB, with the design of the original racing special that was sponsored by the company Apple Computers Inc.

Steve Jobs was also a big car fan, among many other things, and that's why he convinced Steve Wozniak in 1980 to Apple sponsored a Porsche race car that participated in the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Although the crew of Bob Garretson, Bobby Rahal and Allan Moffat managed to complete the race in just 13 hours, the car became legendary, thanks to Applu. When Apple Porsche decided to sponsor, of course, like any sponsor, they wanted to use it for their own promotion, and that's why a single Porsche 935 K3 was created, which can boast not only the logos Applu, but also with original rainbow colors that Apple used in the eighties. Thanks to the connection Applu and Porsche, a single copy of the legendary car was created, which inspired the famous Japanese genius Akira Nakai to create, together with his brand RWB, a specially modified civilian version of the Porsche 935, which is based on this racing special. RWB specializes in modifying Porsche cars and is a big name in the world of tuning. Thanks to this, something almost unbelievable happened and RWB managed to create a car that is not only inspired by a legend, but has become a legend itself.

This particular model of the car is now offered by Ixo Models and I must admit that its detail will not get lost on the shelf even among the toy cars from AutoArt. Minichamps or Spark. The model is currently available at selected retailers and its price is around 849 CZK, which is a really good price for a detailed model of this legend from RWB. The model will arrive at your home in a display box, which I must say was quite scratched in my case and since we are quite pedantic in this regard, I will have to replace it with another one. However, the model itself looks perfect and this is also contributed by the fact that it is placed on an inclined platform and at a certain angle, thanks to which it looks really great no matter where you look at it.

In terms of design, the model lacks nothing that the real car has and as you can see, even a comparison with my model from GT Spirit. So if you want to have something unusual and stylish on your shelf or desk with the logo of a bitten apple, then this model is for you. Moreover, at the price it is currently selling for, there is not much to think about. It is almost certain that once the stock runs out, its price will only go up and up, and even though in this case we are talking about dozens, maxat least hundreds Euro, it's nice to have something that increases in value and is also nice to look at. For lovers AppFor models and designers, it's literally a must and I'm glad it landed on my desk.
