Facebook and other social networks are used by hundreds of millions of people every day. Pro For some, "going through" all social networks is an integral part of their day, while other users may use them for communication, etc. Specifically, on Facebooku, according to its terms, you should only have one account created, and you should also have your real name set on it. However, many users do not want to have their name there, which is why nicknames or other and false names are often set. From the point of view of privacy and identity protection, this may seem fine, but the opposite is true.

If you have a lot of conversations and various pages on your account, or if you also have Instagram connected to it, then you can say that you simply cannot do without it. So if you care about your account, you should not have a name other than your real name set on it at any cost - I'll tell you why. Some time ago, a friend of mine found himself in a situation where his account was temporarily deactivated on Facebooku. In order for the person in question to be able to return to their profile, they had to go through a verification process after logging in, during which you will not miss uploading some document for verification, such as a driver's license or ID card. And now the problem comes, because the acquaintance had Facebooku as the name set nickname. This means that the name on the social network does not match the name on the document, so there is no way to verify that it is exactly you.

facebook identity verification request id

Even though the names don't match, we tried to upload the document and wait for a response from Facebooku. This came after a few weeks of waiting and unfortunately, due to the impossibility of identity verification, it was not possible to reassign access to the account. After 30 days from the deactivation of the account, the entire profile was deleted, including the linked Instagram account, etc. In case you are using FacebookIf you have a nickname and you don't want to end up the same and lose everything, definitely change your name. On an iPhone, just tap bottom right of your profile, and then moved to Settings and Privacy → Settings → Personal Information → Name, where you can already change it. I definitely recommend doing this procedure as soon as possible, because the message about deactivation and the need for verification came to the person in question out of the blue and completely by accident - in fact, it may be enough for someone to try to get into your account, or for some other suspicious activity to be recorded.
