Apple Watch Ultra are perhaps the most interesting product introduced at the recent Apple Keynote. And since they officially go on sale starting today, I've had them on my hands for quite a few hours now and I'm trying to make the most comprehensive first impression possible. After all, I have the honor of having a product that hasn't been around yet and which may to some extent set trends in the coming years, both in the field of Apple Watch, but also in the field of smartwatches as such. So what kind Apple Watch Ultra Are they "at first glance"?

I can't start anywhere else than with the packaging, as it is, in a word, exclusive. Forget the oblong box - new Apple Watch Ultra they come in a box in the shape of a cuboid, similar to a box from MacBooks. As in the case of classic Apple Watch, is also the packaging of the model Ultra solved by an outer paper packaging, in which two boxes are hidden - specifically one hiding the body of the watch and the other hiding the strap. In addition, there is also a multi-page brochure available, which is supposed to introduce you to the watch both in terms of design and basic controls, charging and so on. And since its front side is in the same design as the inside of the packaging paper, i.e. in the design of mountains, everything looks absolutely perfectly coordinated and overall valuable - honestly much more valuable than with classic Apple Watch.
As for the contents of the boxes, there are very few surprises in the end. More or less, the only thing that is really worth paying attention to is the charging cable ending in a magnetic puck, which does not have the classic rubber body, but is braided with a white knit, which should logically increase its durability. In short and well, resistance plays a role Apple Watch Ultra prim absolutely everywhere, which is definitely positive. A rather interesting element, which is not related to the watch, but to the strap, is the opening clasp for attaching the protruding end strap to its remaining, fixed part. He had to use it Apple resort to a new type of strap, which has holes for the best adaptation of the watch to the wrist in any situation. Sure, it's a detail, but it's nice to see that everything was thought about.
I admit that when I saw the watch at the presentation Applu, I didn't really like their design, especially because of the "hump" on their right side, which seemed extremely distinctive to me, along with the color of their chassis. Personally, I'm a fan of dark watches, as they go better with a black display. However, when I Apple Watch Ultra When I first unpacked them and looked at them up close, their appearance suddenly struck me as completely different. While on the promotional materials Applu seem very robust and generally "sharp" in terms of their edges and such, in reality they seem much more minimore masculine impression, which is definitely great for me. It's a shame that it didn't arrive in the dark variaHowever, I still insist. The combination of light titanium with a black display is not, in my opinion, the right combination, so miniat least for some users. If the watch were all black or all gray, it would be a slightly different story.
The weight of the watch is not at all large, but if you are used to classic Series like me, then you will simply feel it on your wrist. However, due to the relatively bulky body, I do not think that this is a negative, on the contrary. The slightly higher weight of the watch will give you the impression that you are dealing with a really durable and high-quality piece, which is what you definitely want. As for the dimensions, they are probably enough for consideration by every single person who has o Apple Watch Ultra interest. Personally, I would say that 49mm is a really nice size for a standard male wrist, and it still looks good on it. However, the thickness of the watch seems really big to me and it will take some time to get used to it. Apple Watch Ultra They are not, in any way, a part of you, like the flat Series, which they don't even try to be. So it's up to you whether you accept their game or not.
The large body, and therefore the display of the watch, is not only unattractive in terms of its fit on a man's wrist (on a woman's wrist, the model is Ultra honestly I can't fully imagine), but also in terms of controllability. The huge flat display is literally a feast for your fingers browsing the system watchOS 9. Thanks to the fact that everything is bigger, its overall control is faster and more secure, which is absolutely great and I admit that if there were Apple Watch Series also in this dimension, I do not hesitate. However, the brightness of the display is absolutely bombastic, which is at the level of this year's iPhones, which in the end means nothing more than a perfect spectacle and pleasant controllability. However, everything has its pros and cons. In the case of the display and controllability, it is the sharp titanium edges that line the display. Although I am not a sensitive person, I must say that for a person who is used to swiping on a watch from the edge of the display, this model is a rather unpleasant experience. The edges are really quite sharp and swiping your finger over them in an attempt to swipe on the display is no fun. Unfortunately, the same applies to the right "hump", which also seems excessively square to me and therefore unpleasant to the touch. The side button and crown are controlled well on their own, but if you simply bump the edge of the "hump", you will feel it, which is a bit of a shame. Moreover, I am convinced that these sharp edges will be “beautifully” filled with various types of taps after some time.ancand which transform their sharpness into roundness.
As I have only had the watch on my wrist for a relatively short time, I have not had the opportunity to test it more comprehensively in terms of functions. However, everything tested on them so far runs fast, looks nice and simply works as you are used to from previous models Apple Watch. However, the additional functions also seem to be successful. For example, the left side button reacts to programmed actions very quickly and already I want to say that it is really useful. Personally, I still have a flashlight set on it, which I use quite often, and it's really cool to be able to start it just by pressing a button without having to enter the system. But switching the dial to red, which is more pleasant for the eyes at night, or a siren also works well. I tried it here for a few seconds, but only so I wouldn't go deaf. Its volume is truly incredible for the fact that it comes from such a small product.
After a few hours with Apple Watch Ultra So, I have a completely positive view of them so far. In terms of functionality, they seem very successful to me, in terms of design they are not bad at all, and actually the only thing that I regret and at the same time bother me is that they are not available in another color. This will be one of the main reasons why I will not keep them after the review, but will send them back home. Otherwise, I can imagine life with them - at least after those few hours. I will tell you how they work out for me in the coming days in the review.
Really ? It's always a toy. It can't even be interesting. It looks even worse than the classics Apple watch
So you are smarter than all those engineers and top people in Apple and this watch won't sell, right? :-D By the way, you are obviously interested when you read about them. What's wrong with you? You don't care about them?
Average apple fanboy
Average Apple fanboy 🤦♂️
That didn't work out very well... durability is of no use in the design of children's watches. Probut the price is great 👍
You obviously have no idea what you're talking about. 🤦♂️
I have tested a lot of watches, from Chinese shit to established brands, I currently use iPhone 13Pro + Garmin Fenix 6X Pro. Design and durability AW Ultra It won't force me to change, I don't want to fly to the charger after 3 hours of activity and put 25k in a drawer for the watch...
The sheep will buy it, that's clear - the promo about how the guy climbs Mount Everest was successful, but according to the stated endurance, the hours will be broken already in the base camp. Not all for what apple it will work...
What are your experiences and what speaks in favor of buying AW?Ultra from your point of view?
But he's right.
And that's why they are unavailable 😁 prostheses are....
I saw them live today and they look nice.
I agree, much better in reality than in the promo photos.
I disagree that they should also be in black. variaThis watch is primarily for outdoor activities and any anodizing or paint will only accentuate the scratches.ance, so they only make sense in the natural color of the metal.
Exactly. So I was looking forward to the steel version because a person can'tchat then have it polished at a watchmaker's to get rid of fine scratchesancwhich probably won't work with titanium due to the matte finish, but it's still good. Any kind of anodizing etc. is nonsense.
I'm getting ready for them ;)
Let's hope they look better than in the photos, the durability of the watch predetermines them to be more of aancbatteries and daily charging. They will probably survive the weekend outdoor in battery saving mode. And I don't want such a watch. ScratchancI don't deal with Garmin either, they don't exist. Battery life 3 weeks on full charge VS 3 days in power saving mode.
Leave the chosen material and color to applu – he knows what is best for the user
There's already too much of it all, above all the shapeless, impure design nonsense - jokes about Soviet/Russian digital cameras of (un)good memory immediately popped into my mind...
If they had rather used an up-to-date SoC, i.e. at 4nm, they would have done better for me, because even with the previous battery they would have achieved a similar endurance. Hopefully next year it will already be 3nm - who would bet on that? ;-)
I have them since yesterday and as the owner of a Garmin Marq, Tag heuer connected later epix2, I can say that in terms of design, the feel of the watch and its exclusivity on the hand, materials (toone(titanium and sapphire) Apple konečene reaches this category, where of course it has a huge advantage over the ones mentioned above in its compatibility with iPhone. So for me tooneence product and watch that I was missing to my complete satisfaction.
I am positively surprised at how light and not so nasty they are. you have to look at them by name. fine for me. but I wouldn't take full advantage of them. what I would like is for the classic series to give higher resistance and better durability.
I went to see them too and I like them. I expected them to be significantly heavier, but it's great. I was just rather unpleasantly surprised by the way the belt is fastened in the alpine thrust :-(
Battery life and charging speed?
About 30% of the battery in a day with a 3-hour cycle, so very good, I haven't had to charge it yet, so I don't know
Gold Garmins
Question - does it make sense to iPhone to have a different watch than Apple?
My son has iPhone and garmin and communication doesn't work very well. Well, not like that, my dear duo Apple Watch -IPhone
And in terms of battery life, there are probably better options than garnin
Yes apple will always work best with apple. This is also on purpose to better sell their products directly
So with Apple wasteonem will communicate best Apple watches. Other brands have very limited communication. This is on purpose to sell their product even more
I read a lot about AWU and I have to laugh at people who have a mi band or some android and curse AWU as the worst watch. Garmin laughed that they calculate endurance in months and not hours. Apple can now laugh that they sell by the mileoneand not in pieces, but Apple no need to be embarrassed. Btw, this has made Garmin really low for me. I had a vivoactive 4 from Garmin, forerunner 255 fenix 6s, 7x and all went into the world because I want a smart watch every day and a daily 10+ km run with music. With AWU I ran a marathon with headphones on the first day and lost 35%, so 3.5h + bluetooth (a terrible battery eater with music). ProDoes Garmin lie to everyone?!? Every day for over an hour of running with music and Garmins are broken within a week. They promise months and weeks, but it's a lie who burdens them as much as I do. A running buddy has a G 745 and it has worse endurance than the AWU.. I've read a bunch of articles about how their watches last a month, but the truth is that those people don't do anything and don't burden them. Otherwise, the AWU design is subjective.. some people really like it and some find it disgusting.
After a week, I can say that I have never had a better and more beautiful watch on my hand, and the battery is perfectly fine for my use, and before I drink my coffee in the morning, I have the watch ready for a few days, and that suits me. Since I have them, I hardly use the phone, because I can handle dictating messages and short calls without a phone. I have a more demanding profession (ačr) and they passed the exercises with flying colors, so I wish people who are not blind and have no reason to only curse and complain to enjoy them and serve them like I do.
