Alza.com has recently introduced an update to its shopping app. Customers now know how long the entire process of picking up their order will take before clicking on pick up, and they can watch the countdown as it progresses. This will reduce the time spent at the branch and in queues, and limit the amount of goods that customers have to buy. nestThe company wants to contribute to even greater customer safety and smooth collection of purchases.

The largest Czech e-shop is constantly working on developing its shopping app. Among other things, the order pick-up function has seen a significant improvement. Customers have used it more than twice since the beginning of the pandemic.  For example, at the main Showroom of the company, it is 117% more than before the pandemic, more than a third of orders are picked up in this way, in other branches of the sales network there was an increase in the use of the function by almost 150%.

"We are constantly working to make shopping from mobile devices as pleasant and easy as possible for our customers. Last year alone, two-thirds of customers visited our e-shop from mobile devices," said Vladimír Dědek, director of web and mobile development Alza.com. “During the pandemic, our app saw more than half a million new downloads, and interest in it is growing this year as well. Customers appreciate the possibility of easy and quick pick-up of orders at branches," he added.

The order pickup function via the mobile app allows you to minimum to limit contact and stay in the premises of the dispensing points and waiting in queues. Before starting the dispensing, the customer can see how long it will take the staff of the selected branch to prepare their order at a given moment, and can thus arrive exactly on time. For example, if they know that their journey will take only five minutes and the dispensing will take ten, they can start the dispensing in the application before arriving. Thanks to the interactive countdown, it is also possible to easily check how much time is left. The company wants to make it easier for customers to plan their time. The countdown, together with clear instructions and all the necessary information in one place, is also intended to limit the number of orders that customers place. nestPlease collect your order at the counters in time. These missed orders can lead to unwanted queues.

Alza plans to further develop this function, one of the next options in the near future should be the ability to choose donesending orders to a specific parking space or enabling easy sharing of orders for collection by another registered customer. The application is free to download at Google Play a App Store.
