Subscribers to the video streaming service Netflix should beware these days. They may receive a message in their inbox that appears to be from Netflix, asking them to verify their account due to problems with paying for the monthly subscription. However, it is of course nothing like that. The message is another in a series of phishing attacks that have only one goal - to lure you with personal data, especially those related to payment cards.

Phishing Netflix

In terms of design, the mail as such looks very trustworthy, since it is created in the same way that Netflix actually uses it. However, it is enough to look at the email address from which the message arrived, and it must be clear to everyone that this is just a scam. Another indication of possible problems is, for example, a gap between the word Notification and an exclamation mark, which is obviously not grammatically correct. However, if even this did not catch your eye, when you click or tap on "Verify now", the browser will warn you that you are entering a dangerous or even outright fraudulent page, which should be enough of a thumbs up for you not to continue. So, if you receive a similar email, delete it with peace of mind and continue to enjoy the service. You would be notified of any problems either by official emails directly from support or in the Netflix interface.
