iPhoto
iPhoto was the first native application in more modern Mac operating systems that allowed users to work with their photos. Company Apple presented this software at the Macworld conference in 2002, where, among other things, the new iMacs and iBooks were also presented. Originally, iPhoto was distributed as part of a software package called iLife. With the help of the iPhoto application, users could import and export photos from digital cameras, media carriers or even flash drives on their Macs. They could add captions and labels to their images, sort them into folders, or perform basic and slightly more advanced adjustments to them, from adjusting contrast or brightness to red-eye correction. The iPhoto application also offered users tools for sharing photos, presenting them in the form of a slideshow, or perhaps creating posters, postcards, calendars and other products. In June 2014, the company Apple announced that it intends to discontinue development of iPhoto and will begin work on a new application called Photos. The iPhoto application has disappeared from App Store in April 2015, the last operating system to support it was macOS Mojave 10.14.
Aperture
Aperture for Mac was first released in 2005 and has served users for a decade. It allowed users to import and export photos and other image files, as well as manage them, make basic edits, display photos in slideshows, and print photos. Aperture also had a number of useful features including searching by keywords, locations, allowing the use of various effects, and users could also use it to export their images not only to iCloudbut also on platforms such as Flickr or SmugMug. In June 2014, however, the company Apple has issued an official statement stating that it plans to remove the Aperture application from its offering. App Store – it was removed in April 2015. However, it was still available on Macs for several years. The last operating system that Aperture ran on was macOS Mojave.
