Will the shops be closed on Easter, or will we shop in peace on Friday and Monday? This is the question that resonates in Czech society in recent hours and days. Confusions with the opening of shops have been big for a long time, and the current state of emergency and the coronavirus pandemic, which is changing the established order, are causing an even bigger stew. How?

Quite simply. While in the past shops were open on Good Friday and closed on Easter Monday, this year they are closed even on Good Friday, i.e. April 2. However, you will still be able to shop without a problem on Saturday 3rd April and Sunday 4th April as they are normal days - just be aware that the rush of people in the shops is very likely to be huge as they are preparing for Easter Monday.
