Making movies based on video games has been in vogue lately. This fate awaits the hit from the German studio Piranha Bytes, namely Gothic. It will be directed by Uwe Boll, who has already directed game adaptations such as Far Cry, Postal or BloodRayne. A spokeswoman for Universal said that the film will have several changes compared to the game, mainly due to forced political correctness. The main character will be Jason Statham. However, we will see both Mud and Jim in the film Carreyho. Hopefully the film will be successful. It should be in theaters in 2023.
