Although the first iPhones 12 and 12 Pro will reach their owners only at the end of this week, their performance tests are already starting to appear on the Internet. We showed you the Geekbench results on our website a few days ago, and today it is the turn of the results of another very popular measuring tool - namely AnTuTu. However, unlike Gekkbench, they are not very impressive.

When introducing the processor Apple A14 Bionic, its creator boasted, is about 50% more powerful than competing processors designed for similar machines. Subsequently, he wasn't even afraid to point out that in terms of performance, not even many notebooks can compete with his new mobile processor. However, the results from AnTuTu show that we do not have the honor of having such a perfect chipset, because Apple apparently due to the need to keep it at reasonable operating temperatures minislow down on iPhones. At least this is what comes out of a test where classic iPhone 12 with A14 Bionic chipset and 4GB RAM and iPad Air 4th generation with the same hardware. This test showed that the iPad is about 10% better in terms of CPU and the difference in graphics performance is even 30%. As a result, we get a difference of about 20%, which is quite strange for “hardware” with the same main technical specifications.

The most likely explanation for this discrepancy at this time appears to be the aforementioned artificial throttling of performance due to overheating, or rather battery consumption. Although some untuned performance is also a possibility iOS 14.1, with which the iPhones 12 will arrive, but this seems to be due to the fact that we are only a few days away from their arrival and therefore it must already be in the phone.onech pre-installed as very unlikely. However, it should be emphasized that these are the first Geekbench results that are currently available. Only the following weeks will show how the new iPhones really perform in terms of performance.
