The South Korean company LG has probably not been able to manage its internal communication in recent days and has caused quite an embarrassment among its fans. We recently received support AirPlay 2 and HomeKit on selected 2019 TVs and then we learned that this new feature will also affect some 2018 models this year. All users have been impatiently waiting and looking forward to it - but unfortunately they have been disappointed, at least so far. On Friday we informed you that LG is changing plans and support for two-year-old TVs afteronec will not arrive. Today is Monday and the South Korean company has changed its mind again.

But let's go back to Friday's incident. A post appeared on LG UK's Twitter account, which has unfortunately since been deleted, stating that the company has no plans to introduce support for the said generation of TVs. Today's announcement already sounds significantly different and, paradoxically, comes from the same source - from LG UK's Twitter account. According to the post, users around the world can already enjoy the app Apple TV on their 2018 LG OLED and Super UHD TVs, with the program arriving on UHD TV versions soon after. We can also read here that we will see support later this year Apple AirPlay 2 and HomeKit, and we will learn more information immediately after the release of the relevant update.

Support should specifically arrive for LCD TVs that have SK or UK in their names, and for models with OLED panels whose names are "decorated" with the designations B8 to Z8. Features AirPlay 2 will allow Apple users to mirror or live stream content from Apple devices to a smart TV, without the need for a Apple TV. Regarding support HomeKitu, it will allow the user to control the volume, playback source, power and many other features through Siri and the native Home app.

Today's statement on Twitter:

What is behind the current situation is of course unclear. The South Korean company did not respond to Friday's incident. Either an error in internal communication or the strength of the user base could be to blame. Immediately after the announcement that we will not see support on the mentioned TVs from 2018, a huge avalanche of criticism fell on LG on social networks. Currently, some users have lost trust in the brand and will only believe the news when it is released.
