One of the most useful tools in the Apple ecosystem is undoubtedly AirDrop, through which you can share almost any file very easily and quickly. It arrived in the Apple ecosystem back in 2011, thanks to which the vast majority of us already take it for granted and everyday bread. But did you know that Google did not offer anything similar to its Android users and decided to do so only now?

That Google is preparing its own version of Apple AirDrop has been rumored for years, but it's only now that this gadget has found its way onto Android. It's called Nearby Share and it works practically the same as AirDrop – for sharing files between users who are nearby. All sharing takes place over WiFi, through which the devices are connected to each other. However, it should be noted that this is only their own WiFi network, which in other words means that the function works without an Internet connection and therefore de facto anywhere. According to Google, all file sharing should be completely secure, so this gadget can be used to share practically anything.

Nearby Share isn't bad with compatibility either. The function will be available from Android 6 and above, thanks to which it will reach a really wide range of phones. However, as is usual with Android, its expansion will take place gradually, so the world will probably have to wait some Friday for its greater expansion. However, we dare to say that waiting for such gadgets is worth it.
